All i know was that Sun Glare was an issue and a realy tall man was trapped under the dashboard. Last notice he was in Sever critical condition. The other vehicle where taken to the hospital, unknown thier injuries or status.

That intersection is the worst.

Parker is really bad too and now worse with everyone trying to avoid Route 30. I have lived here my entire life and the main reason these intersections are bad is more traffic and impatient drivers. I have seen more close calls than I can count because people have had to wait to pull out and then get mad and take stupid chances and pull out when then shouldn't and then angry driver who didn't like them pulling out in front of them and they speed up and get right on that persons tail. I hate driving around here anymore to many crazies.

Oaky, I have goosebumps as I read your comments because it was the love of my life that was in that accident Monday. I wasn't familiar with that intersection until I got the call from the Emergency Room from Silver Cross hospital saying that Jim had been in an accident and that he was in critical condition! I was literally in shock. I have since been told by so many people how bad that intersection is and I don't think Jim had driven there before to be familiar with it either. And you're right, the deputy on the scene told me that sun glare was probably a factor also. Jim has been in intensive care all week as is going to have surgery tomorrow. I don't think there is a single place on his body that isn't bruised, but by the grace of God he is still alive. Thank you for your concern.

I use that intersection quite a bit and it can be tricky. Patience is needed. Then just to the west is Parker and Francis. That's very dangerous as well. Once again, patience is needed from all drivers. Unfortunately most people want to go, go, go!!! Me, me, me!!! What a sh*t attitude. Remember after 9/11 how everyone was nice to each other? I knew that was over the first time I got cut off and received the bird for the horn. People drive like maniacs. Good wishes to you Jim. Please keep us posted on his condition.

Debbie, Pray'n for Jim. Hope all goes well with his surgery. I will put him on our payer list at church. The power of prayer is so amazing!
The guardrail there is always wrecked because of crashes. There really needs to be something done there!

My brother is Jim. He had surgery today and is hanging in there. He is in a lot of pain and still considered critical. We all appreciate your prayers. Thank God no one else was hurt.

What the heck happened? The skid marks look as though he didn't brake and went righstraight into the guardrail. Is that it?

Thank you again everyone for all your prayers for Jim. I think that says alot about how good people are when they can be concerned for a total stranger. To try to find an answer for Unincorporated: I don't know anything about the car hitting a guardrail and I have spoken several times to the deputy that was at the scene. It was a head-on collision with another vehicle. The driver of the other car was treated and then released from the hospital. A previous post comment said there have been alot of accidents there and the guardrail has been hit many times.
As his sister said, surgery went well. I'm happy to report i spoke to him and the phone today when I called his nurse to get an update on his condition! What an improvement to how he was throughout the week. He has a long recovery road ahead of him, but when I think of what could have happened, I know we are truly blessed. Thank you.

I could see a head on there. That road curves around and if you're not paying attention you automatically drift into the oncoming traffic which is VERY heavy at that time of day. Just think, at the end of 2014 Route 30 will be done! Wow!
