Sigh....this issue has never been about my reaction to a dangerous situation, but your gun yielding reaction to a dangerous situation. Redirecting the focus doesn't make you any more right.
Besides, I seriously doubt the Navy Seal meant for citizens to freeze in place so that they can become easier targets. More than likely he meant to do a quick assessment, which is what I stated I would do in a previous post.
Unfortunately, your defense of concealed carry has not made me feel any safer. Quite the contrary.
Good luck. I hope you never are near a shootout. Running will get you killed!

I think everyone hopes to never be near a shootout unless they are soft in the head. And plenty of people that have run from a shootout have lived. If you have no cover options to protect you from the shooting and no weapon to return fire, ya you better think about getting out of there as quickly as possible. And you are ex military, why dont you ask guys who have been under fire if they have ever run, the answer most likely yes sometimes it the best option. Better yet just watch some old military films or even some from the middle east, you will see soldiers running in a firefight.

I'm not looking for advise, appalled is. You better teach appalled how to shoot. The way Obama is attacking freedom around the world, we might be nearing world war III soon!

Running for cover will GET me killed? That doesn't make sense on any level. You are back peddling so hard, I don't think you even realize how you sound anymore.

I'm kind of starting to understand why your HOA ran you out of the neighborhood.

I don't RUN. I think situations out. I was in the military and trained well in self defense and combat maneuvers. They don't send the police to do the work of the military. Remember SWAT teams are called out to handle intensive situations that the police are not trained for. I was just giving you some of my experience. If you take it or not, doesn't change my life.

I think your a little nuts thinking you know who I am.

PS.......I heard on the radio today the University Of Colorado is adopting CONCEAL CARRY for the student body. As long as they are 21, and posess a permit, you can carry on campus. Glad to hear not all universities are governed by socialists. I going to look for the article to post!

So you have been in a live firefight situation? And you did not run at all? And you were in the military last in 1990 by what you have posted. Thats 22 years ago. As I stated before, you need to train extensively to keep your skills sharp. So I think you may be reaching a bit. Skills fade. I played baseball for many semi pro teams myself but that was also last in about 1990, I dont claim that I can still compete on the same level. Age and lack of continous training tend to diminish skills very rapidly.

sports skills, and the philosophy of combat training are uncomparable. Sports skills are your physical ability, while combat situational training is mental ability, Military training is superior compared to police training. I will stick with the training I received in the military.

You do that. What color is the sky in your world. Yes sir, you are a well tuned, highly trained machine. Lets see you were in the Air Force for four years from 1986-90, over 22 years ago. And combat situational training as you call it, has a great deal to do with the physical shape and skills that you must practice over and over again. Firing a weapon is a skill one must continually practice, physical self defense tactics one must continually practice. And even the mental aspect of the training wanes over time, when not being put to continual use or practice. Thats why military units like the seal teams and police units like swat teams are put together to practice and keep their skills and physical abilities sharp.
Look I have the utmost respect for those who served in our military, I really do. And again thank you and those who served in our military. And I am not knocking any training you may have received. But sometimes your thought process just floors me.

I dont think she wants or needs any education from us blathering on this site. She seems like a pretty smart and tough cookie. I have more than seen her hold her own on here. But thanks again for your service to our country and enjoy the weather and hopefully a good Bears/Packers game tonight.

Thank you. Thank you very much.(That was my best Elvis impersonation which is probably better online than it is in person!)

Hold On.... I took a ride over to Lot 67 at Shannon Shores today. Careful my friend. While it looks ok from the road, the water frontage needs complete cleaning from overgrown Cat Tails. The pier you refer to in the picture you saw? Must be the neighbors. Yours is dilapatated a bit. Maybe the reason for $89k? I noticed several for sale signs out there too. Could be a good time to buy low, and do a little work on them. BTW: The neighbor was out there working on his boat cover, and was a "very" nice and friendly guy.
