It's been closed for over a year. Maybe you heard that it was going to be torn down. Could always use more Metra parking.

I agree that House of Hughes (the old Bruns Restaurant) and Pit Stop need to go. Those are two eyesores that are the first thing people see when entering the village from the East. Prime property with dumpy buildings - they are prime areas for redevelopment.

Anyone heard anyting about TJ's lately? Another prime spot with no activity at all.

What is so prime about TJ's location?

You people are ignorant and dumb. Don't drive drunk, regardless of what town it's in. It's not cool, it's not the norm. I'd rather have the cops hammering DUI's in this town so our kids can get around safely. The reason why Charley Horse closed is because it sucked..the food was below average and the service was awful. The owner had no clue on how to operate/manage a restaurant. The only reason his other places have made it is because of primo location. But go to those places and they are operated the same way. Awful. As far as Prime Time, it was doomed from the get go as most bar and grills are. The next thing going in that spot is an arcade so now the kind hearted bluestone bay residents can try to put the kabosh on that one. I love it...teenagers walking their precious streets as they throw cigarette butts on to their lawns. Stay tuned,

Right on Rt. 30 in the heart of town. Not sure what the lot is listed for now but they were asking $1,000,000 last year. That's not because of the quality of that building.

The TJ's building would need to be torn down, because the cost of bringing it up to compliance levels would be astronomical. There is little space for parking, at least not enough to put it in compliance with the existing spaces per sq foot regulations. The Mayor once told the prospective buyers to really examine the existing facilty with engineers to find out what it would really cost to reopen that place before they spent money on a liquor license.

Bluestone / Prime Time were doomed before they started. The bar should have been put where the Fitness Center is and vice versa. Poor planning on Cachey's part. Now he'll have a vacant storefront for quite a while.

They should tear down the bluestone strip mall and build a low income section 8 housing project. It would make New Lenox a popular up and coming community on the south side like Oak Park or Evanston.

I'm certainly not an expert on village parking ordinances but perhaps something other that a restaurant or bar can be accommodated in the TJ's building? I assume the paring area tithe east goes with the building.

I agree with your comment regarding the location of Primetime / Charter Fitness. The surrounding residents have no beef however. The commercial was part of the plat prior to homes being constructed.

I noticed that as well. I think it happened a couple of weeks ago without fanfare. Ai visited a few times but was never impressed with their service, staff or prices.

Now we have another white elephant at the old Eagle store.

Portillos didn't bring any new money to town like mayor said it would. It just sucked what little money was flowing to one business. All businesses are down top to bottom. More closings should be coming soon. Hope he's happy bringing over priced crap to town.

Whoever buys the TJ bldg will also have to deal with the sewer treatment plant stink. The lot to the east is owned by someone else. Primetime bldg should be breakfast joint although I'd hate to see Country Charm business affected. Maybe a Hallmark or some other card shop. We have no where to buy gifts or cards in this town. Former Eagle bldg looks terrible as does the Ace hardware strip mall. Unfortunately businesses are just getting by so I am sure we won't see much change.Just hope those that are still open can hang in there.

Agreed... We can only buy so much fast food, and Portilo's has the superior product.

Question: It has been years since I have ordered an Italian Sausage sandwich. When I grew up, they "always" came with red sauce (Gravey to Italians out here). Ordered one from Portilo's, and it comes with no Red Sause? I asked and they said they don't put Red Sause on Sausage sandwiches. Anybody else think that no Red Sause is strange?
