Ok, the game playing ended, GOP offered Obama the tax rate increase on the wealthy! Liberals laugh & cheer...they won! <But wait?

Obama turns it down? But why? Obama refuses to identify nedded cuts? He wants to keep spending us over the cliff?

http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/12/16/us-...

Wow.... Liberals stop cheering, and realize they are going over with everyone else. No one's cheering but Obama.... He has America in his death grip now.

I agree that he hates freedom, but so has every single president since the creation of this country.

Military Superiority? If he hates that so much (as I do) then why is the budget so inflated under his watch?

Exceptionalism? Well again, I myself hate this, but if you look at Obama's record, it's clear that he doesn't. Call me when Obama pulls our military out of the countries we are occupying.

Hey neighbor? wassup? The USA spends more on the military than the next 16 countries combined. Even the military says they can do quite nicely with less. Contrary to all the fear mongering, the Congessional Budget Office and st. Reagans former economic adviser all disagree with you.

Glenn Beck and many other Republicans are arguing that the deficits the U.S. is incurring is a "crisis" and therefore spending needs to be reduced now. However, conservative contributor to the NY Times Economix blog and former adviser to Presidents Reagan and George H W Bush, Bruce Bartlett, recently wrote about the Government Accountability Office's new estimates of the federal government's long term budget outlook. He points out, according to the GAO report:
[S]pending is not out of control. Entitlement programs like Social Security and Medicare are rising gently as the baby-boom generation retires. All other spending, including that for the military and domestic discretionary programs, falls—with the notable exception of interest on the debt. Interest rises sharply as the deficit rises, principally because the G.A.O. assumes that revenue will not be permitted to rise above its historical average—as Republicans continually insist.
In other words, the inability to raise revenues to deal with the deficit is the nation's major financial problem. Here's the information in chart form from the GAO: http://www.sharethisurlaboutglennbeck.com/

Obama is a fiscal conservative, put a cork in the fear mongering, crap like that that glenn beck, sean hannity rush limbaugh etc. caused the horror in Connecticut last week. It's lies that causes fear.
Here are a few examples of Obama's effective conservatism:
His stimulus bill was half the size that his advisers thought necessary;
He continued Bush’s war and national security policies without change and even retained Bush’s defense secretary;
He put forward a health plan almost identical to those that had been supported by Republicans such as Mitt Romney in the recent past, pointedly rejecting the single-payer option favored by liberals;
He caved to conservative demands that the Bush tax cuts be extended without getting any quid pro quo whatsoever;
And in the past few weeks he has supported deficit reductions that go far beyond those offered by Republicans.
Further evidence can be found in the writings of outspoken liberals such as New York Times columnist Paul Krugman, who has condemned Obama’s conservatism ever since he took office.
Conservatives will, of course, scoff at the idea of Obama being any sort of conservative, just as liberals scoffed at Nixon being any kind of liberal. But with the benefit of historical hindsight, it’s now obvious that Nixon was indeed a moderate liberal in practice. And with the passage of time, it’s increasingly obvious that Clinton was essentially an Eisenhower Republican. It may take 20 years before Obama’s basic conservatism is widely accepted as well, but it’s a fact.

My diagnosis for you is indoctrination with a pathological ideology which paints all disagreements as insane, all proponents of disagreements as homicidal maniacs. Please, educate yourself. Pick up a few books that you don't already agree with. Read them.

No avoidance, the Big boys consider that a positive. Faith in the future growth of America. Didn't you bother to read the G.A.O, of C.B.O statements? The Fiscally conservative manouevers Obama made are working. The Republicans are impedeing the recovery. Keep up the BS and you lose the House in 2014 and no chance for Le Casa Blanca 2016.

Y'all have the blood of the children of Connecticut on your hands. The BS fearmongering of economic apocalypse has led to the emergence of 'Doomsday Preppers', fueled by the BS rhetoric and lies of glenn beck, sean hannity, rush linbaugh, mike savage etc...a suburban housewife arms herself to the teeth, stockpiles freeze dried foods, fills her unstable kids head with 'doomsday' scenarios. The nitwit woman irresponsibly neglected to secure her unnecessary weapons resulting in this horror.

how the hell do you people sleep at night. Stricter gun control is coming. Deal with it. 40% of the guns are sold at gun shows or private transactions. Untraceable. No banana clips, no armour piercing/cop killer ammo. That's gonna end.

We're not going to ban guns, but it will be MUCH more restrictive.

One obvious change would be to mandate a criminal background check for all gun purchases. Under the Brady Act, federally licensed gun retailers are required to do a background check before selling a customer a firearm. But an estimated forty per cent of gun sales today are “private” sales not involving a licensed dealer: these transactions take place at gun shows, in parking lots, and increasingly, on the Internet.(One site, gunbroker.com , reported two billion dollars in sales this year.) Private sales do not require a background check, and because there is no mechanism for the A.T.F. to collect or maintain records on these sales, they are virtually untraceable. There are bills pending on Capitol Hill that would force checks for all sales, and there is considerable bipartisan support for this kind of measure.
