Best Buy is laying off 400 employees from their corporate office thanks to obamanomics. Walmart just released disappointing earnings, now Best Buy announces a massive layoff! WOW! Economist predict a horrible economic outlook for 2013. I don't understand why people actually wake up everyday expecting things to get better. Obama told everyone he is Transforming America, it will be painful, but in the end I will bring utopia to America. Too bad Obama's definition of utopia is communism!

Hmmm. I heard best buy is in trouble because of higher prices then amazon. They are known as an amazon showroom. When did Obama start amazon? I wasn't aware.

Yes, I'm so glad we bailed out AIG so they could give their execs huge bonuses. And Detroit, so they could build factories over seas and create jobs there. Yes, yes, using taxpayer money for this was brilliant!

Best Buy vs Amazon??? Really? When was the last time you received a technical explaination from Amazon? How about repair service? Warrenty service? Actually could touch and try a device? Oh, I get it, if you read it on the internet it has to be true huh? Hey, do you want to date a French Model?

And I suppose you think Best Buy has no overhead for the above?

I actually buy from both, but brain dead decisions on a product I go for price (including shipping). Thinking decisions, and service concerns, I go to Best Buy.

That's why it's a showroom for amazon. You go there touch it, get your questions answered and buy it at a cheaper rate online. Get a cheaper warranty. It's a very common practice called saving money. I do and so do lots of others. But I'm not as rich as you to waste my money.

Best buy is in trouble because they won't adapt. You already posted this same shit about 2 weeks ago. Get a life. As for walmarts earnings. You didn't read them did you? Disappointing isn't the word. Not to mention they paid a lower effective tax rate than anticipated. Oh, and the 3 billion they spent on a buy back. Which does affect their earnings. Oh, and they raised their dividend 29 cents a share. Yeah, TERRIBLE report. Such a douche. Go back to driving your truck. Leave the financial reading to us democrats. Yee haw breaker breaker.
equity transactions such as stock repurchases do not impact earnings, or impact the tax rate they pay. dont be such a know it all.

The tax comment was meant for the righties to show that, no matter what they're told, Obama isn't skewering everybody's profits with more taxes. The stock buy back affects that periods profit, not earnings. My mistake. Unless that's wrong?

I think Obama is the best president we've had since Bill Clinton. We need to change the rules so he can stay in for another term 2016. Just like we did for FDR so he can get this country back on the right track. God Bless President Obama

It depends on what you think is the right track! Poverty? Communism? Tyranny? Third World?

That is not right. Repurchases of stock, issuance of new stock, retirements of treasury stock, etc. have no impact whatsoever on profit, revenue, earnings, expenses, etc. These are all equity transactions that impact the balance sheet, but not income, and as such, do not impact taxes. The only way that stock transactions will impact income (net) is when a company pays its employees with stock. Then the company would get a deduction from income (for tax purposes) for the compensation issued in the form of equity. No different than if they were given cash.
