Letter and voicemail this a.m. Maybe I'm missing something but this doesn't make sense to me. THey claim "...none of our students were involved in the accident..." Yet it also says there were LWC students on the bus and the person struck is a LWC "pedestrian" (does that mean student or employee?) It very much appears that many LWC students were involved either on the bus or being struck...is this legal mumbo jumbo?

Dear New Lenox School District 122,

This morning, a Lincoln-Way bus carrying Lincoln-Way Central Students was involved in an accident with a Lincoln-Way Central pedestrian. The accident occurred just south of Haven and Cedar Road. Although none of our students were involved in the accident, there is a chance that they may have witnessed it. If your student was on a bus that witnessed the accident, you will be receiving a seperate message to let you know.

Thank you

LCW is not NLSD 122. Therefore none of the NLSD 122 students were involved. There is a chance the students going to school to NLSD 122 saw this accident is what they are saying.

Pray that everyone is ok.

ConnectEd message was sent by District 122. LWC is a different district. Therefore, no elementary children were directly involved in the accident.

We saw the result of the accident before emergency crews arrived. There was someone stuck under the front of the bus. After crews arrived there were two tow trucks to help lift the front end of the bus. Husband said the person looked like a child or a small person. Put on stretcher and loaded into ambulance. Person was moving. PD said that it appears the person is ok.

Pray that everyone is ok.
Or you can just hope that everyone is ok and than trust in the givers of medical science to help the people that are hurt. Pray is what you do when you want to feel like your doing something, but in fact doing nothing.

my husband also saw the accident taking my children to school. It was a child on a bike stuck under the drive shaft of the bus. The bus had kids on it. The police were on the ground talking to the kid. A scene no one ever needs to see or experience. Ive been sick all day, and praying for all that were involved. The message was just meant to notify us to be there for our children, and we can contact them if our children saw any of it. Its hard for an adult let alone a child.

HAHA! This is hilarious! Nice try, "No prayer needed"! I bet they stopped praying and gave up their religion all together because of your witty and oh so wise post.

ANYWAY, how terrible and scary, praying for those involved...

It sort of goes without saying that everyone with a vested interest in the situation will be hoping everyone is ok and will trust that health professionals will do their best. Throwing a prayer in there never hurt anyone. Do everyone a favor next time and STFU.

Why thank you; however it wasn't that witty. I just find it interesting when people believe in a disembodied entity that is 'supposedly' outside the physical realm, as well as outside of time and space, but 'pray' to it in hopes of ignoring all other plea's for help to listen to your plea and directly involve itself in the physical realm of life.

Maybe you should have pre-prayed to your imaginary friend to have ensured that the accident did not happen to begin with?

Instead, why don't you leave you silly imaginary friend out of reality, quit talking to yourself or ceiling, trust in reality and hope for the best?

Actually, the was a study that was help be the Templeton Foundation, which shows the adverse effect on people who know that they are prayed for.

I will not do anyone a favor that does not life in reality. So therefore, I will not STFU and you can just deal with it.

It was a Lincoln-Way Central student on a bike hit by a bus taking Lincoln-Way Central students to school - student on bike was stuck under the front axle of the bus and the bus had to be lifted to get him out - the latest news is that he is doing well - he is talking and able to move all his arms and legs...thank goodness and we hope he has a quick recovery.

Some students on another bus on the way to Liberty witnessed the accident and the boy stuck under the bus - needless to say, they were very upset. Councelors at Liberty spoke with these students and the parents of these children have been informed of what their children saw.

It's all very scary and I hope that the bus driver, student hit, and all who witnessed the accident are doing well.

Our child was on the bus and many of the students are very upset. Counselors are on staff talking with each student and having group sessions if needed. The kids on the bus were going by reactions of the driver and everyone watching around which overwhelmed them. They knew it was a kid but no other info was given to them
