What a shame if you support union labor cancel your membership immediately and make a statement. It's hard to make a good buck these days support your local Unions.

I believe in unions, but not the corrupt unions we have today. Until there is a major overhaul- to hell with unions.

You can't blame them. I crushed the economy so bad that they are getting the work done by mostly laid off teamsters working non union. Much cheaper too.

My BA will check and see if my trade work is being performed by a signatory contractor. If not, we'll picket.....on a side note, people need to stop blaming the unions for Americas problems. Just like soldiers fought and died for your freedom...unions fought for the working conditions we all have today. You think companies would just give these Things out of the kindness of their hearts.....I don't think so.

Good for them. Maybe some of their members will start to remove the "Proud Union Home" yard signs that make our town look silly.

Go ahead and picket, stand outside with your doughnuts and lunch pales and watch the people that really make this country work stay in shape so that we can employ those that just want to work 8 hours a day and then go home and watch TV and complain about everything. I am sureyou are happy with Obama as well? Well at least us terrible on union companies are making a lot of money and the stock market is skyrocketing. Oh wit, I bet your union dues that are paying your pathetic leadership are earning 1% a year...nevermind about the stock market for you

NL dad thanks for the rational post. I apologize because I assumed you were gonna respond along the line that the ba wad gonna put a stop to the work, I am getting conditioned to receiving outrageous replies to my queries. For the record I believe unions were important, yet I strongly believe that a business owner can choose to have a Bldg built by non union labor. I am curious if union members will cancel the club membership? I am more certain that Charter took this into consideration and decided it was worth doing. As far as quality of work I don'tbuy that arguement anymore. I am not in the ibew but I would put my quality up against any other person that does what I do. Its called pride.

Odd town you really have no idea. If you're worried about proud union signs making out town look silly, you must not leave your cave too much. There are many eyesores in NL besides some people taking pride in something...As for the "people that make this country work", I'm one of those. You have no idea what kind of financial situation I'm in. You jump to conclusions just like you do about unions!!!!

As a long time union member I'm here to say that their place is dying. Just because our forefathers fought for the wages we receive does not mean we are entitled to them now. Times have changed and changed drastically. We've lost 40% of our signatory contractors in the last 5 years and that's not because they've been paying themselves too well. My father and I didn't take checks for two years but our men gladly took home their wages. Not saying thats the sharpest thing to do but it Ive learned. I'm pretty certain our forefathers had no intention of their future union brothers living in a 3400 sq ft home with a Denali in the driveway. If Ray can build the club non union more power to him. I hope he makes a ton of dough.

Maybe if all the union members would quit there will be more room for the rest of us. I would like that.
Good riddance

Union productivity is awful. They work less than 6 hours a day and get paid for 8. They are whiners and big babies. They are always ready to argue and are full of excuses not to do better or more. They take breaks before breaks and breaks after breaks. They might as well come in to work with a lawn chair strapped to their rears.

We need more non-union contractors

The unions supported me. Where are all your shovel ready jobs? They are coming! Hang in there! Stay with me now. Im going to focus on the economy and jobs now! You will be building bridges, roads, infrastructure. I have placed Joe on that task of planning these projects. He has 60 days to report back to me. Its been almost 5 years! Change is coming soon America!

You shouldn't have to picket. Obama promised Unions that for their support he was setting up mandatory card checks. Maybe he hasn't got around to it yet? I hope he didn't lie to get your blind devotion? No....Liberals wouldn't lie and do stuff like that.....would they? LOL!

It's obvious most of you ignorant people are either stuck in a low paying job and jealous of union wages,or a buisness owner paying these low wages. Ray is a horrible business man and can't even afford to build this Charter. He is relying on another person to back this deal. Give this charter 2 yrs the doors will be closed and place built for lease. The union bids are very similar to the non union bid, the only difference is the workers aren't going to make squat! Way to support non union wages and working conditions stupid.
