Walmart in Lockport has good prices on groceries and its not too far away. It would be nice is Jewel was a little more competitive with their prices. The presence of a WalMart would FORCE Jewel/Osco to lower its prices.

WalMart will be a great sucking sound heard on route 30. It will suck business from Walgreens on Schoolhouse to Walgreens on Nelson. I hate WalMart and will never shop there. Looks who's talking. Wow, maybe you should consider proofreading yourself.

I ran a backhoe for the electric contractor that did the Romeoville,Lockport,Joliet,Man teno, and Kankakee Walmarts and they were 100% union. The Lockport store had issues with non union carpenters setting the freezers and coolers but that was rectified. I don't know about store employees thou. Everyone I talk to seem happy with working there. As far as growth, if you don't go with the flow you'll get left behind. Just like those people next to Target in that little green house. It's there right not to sell if they don't want too,but who knows if they change the frontage rules or something when and if the family goes to sell that property won't be worth nothing. If the next generations don't want to live there it will be like those old homes on Clinton Rd. that are haunted!!!! Instead of taking the money and running when they could have. Unless they have something legal already drawn up. In which case I'm just talking out of my ass!!! But I think you get my point.

You better hoard your shrinking dollar, there are very bad times ahead. I think building a Walmart on that piece of land with no improvements on 30 is a big mistake. Sometimes progress for the sake of progress is not progress, it is wasteful. That is what this is. Kmart not good enough for our residents? I guess not. We need more Chinese manufactured goods pumped into our already overstuffed homes. Has anyone ever walked down their street and seen in the garages around town. Chock FULL of junk. They bought it at Walmart. This attitude of shop till you drop has to end. Before we as a nation cease to exist. Hey, it's going to be a SUPER walmart. This mean they will sell FOOD and not the sold called "junk" your speaking of. I will definitely save money! K-Mart is a joke - get real. That store has nice people working there, but it's a dive. Also, can't wait for the Menards as well.

Read where is Walmart posting record profits. Since we can't stop them from coming to New Lenox. I sure hope, they will share some of that profit with the people they get to work for them. Maybe that just wishful thinking.

They "share" by paying a wage, offering deals on purchase of their excellent stock, in-store discounts, and health care plans. What kind of socialist moron are you?

You didn't say one correct thing in your entire 40 word display of capitalistic ignorance. In your other post you didn't specifically state a profit-sharing endeavor. Instead you made it sound as if WM's profits should be shared with residents of the area, not employees of WM. That's a horse of a different color. As for my world, I'd sure as s**t rather be in it than yours.

Otherwise known as employees. I said nothing of sharing with the general public. Read before you get all upset.
