I am looking for a nice place to have a party of about 60 people or so. Any recommendations?

Gattos worked well for me. Food was great, price was reasonable, service was excellent.

Also.. you can call New Lenox Township and rent a banquet room (kitchen included) in the Senior Housing Building next door. Really nice place, huge room and may save you some big bucks too!

The rooms at the VFW and American Legion are not kind of divey. They are clean and many here in the New Lenox area have rented and were very happy with the appearance of the room.
All the places that were mentioned are also very nice. Both Legion and VFW were built in 1996.
VFW is bigger room for crowds over 200 and Legion is for crowds under 100. Both great places and great people.

Thanks for the help everyone. I think I am going to check out the American Legion. VFW is extremely nice (I am not sure you were at the New Lenox one), I played bingo there a few times and it is a really nice place. The American Legion is quite a bit cheaper for rental price so I'd like to look into them as well. I also plan on calling Papa Joe's about the party too. Thanks for being so helpful!

I am also looking for a room in New Lenox for a baby shower. Tell me more about the NL township banquet room in the senior housing building next door. Price? Do you have to be a resident? How many people does it hold?

Last I heard it was $75.00 and no, you do not have to be a resident. Call the New Lenox Township Supervisor (Bill Mcullum)...he will give you all the details. While the room easily holds 200, they ask that parties not exceed 75.

I went to the American Legion and it was really nice and price was good. $175 for 5 hours on a saturday. They seem to book fast though.

The American Legion has a brand new banquet facility that was just added on within the last year. It is beautiful. The VFW also has a big banquet room and I've attended many nice parties there over the years.

St. Jude's used to rent rooms, you had to be a parishoner. Not sure about the kitchen though.
