To all the citizens of Trotwood.
In case you did not know, The council not too long passed a bill to increase our water /sewer bill.
06.04.13- City Increases Water/Sewer Billing Rates
The City has recently increased its customers’ water and sewer billing rates, which will be reflected on the June 1, 2013, billing statement. Overall, rates are being increased by 45% over a five-year period at the rate of 9% each year to make it easier for customers to manage. After the initial 9% increase on the June 1st billing statement, the water and sewer rates will increase another 9% on January 1st of each year in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017.
The funds realized by these increases will help the City pay for the cost of maintenance, repairs and upgrades to utility service lines. Funds will also be used to repay current 30-year loans with The Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC) for the water line replacement projects that have been occurring since Fall 2012 in the Olde Town areas. Furthermore, these funds will help implement repairs and upgrades to the City’s sanitary sewer infrastructure.
Its bad enough to pay the bill that is high enough already. I do not under stand why they do this without letting us, the citizens know ahead of time. They done raised it once for revenue. Now what is going on ? This will affect the senior citizens and thoses who are on fixed income. Now my question is: what are we going to do about it??? Are we going to do nothing and continue to allow them to bill us out of our homes. The taxes are high enough.
