What year was this picture taken? Why do you think it's Valley Camp? The history of Valley Camp is it was "camping" for people who lived in Pittsburgh and came for the weekends. Most of the homes did not have basements, but it is on the river. There was a Dance Hall, changing rooms and a slide down to the water. There was a Hotel Bar and General Store. There also was the Valley Camp Ferry. It was located at the bottom of Ferry Street in Valley Camp. Which is directly across from Ferry Street in East Deer. Now in the field as it was called by the Glass House they always held the Firemen's Conventions. They could of stayed there. But all of the above was way before my time. But all of my relatives always lived here and passed the stories down.
