In statements made to the Union Leader before the vote Sandy and Ken Lehtonen proclaimed that the Town Selectmen must abide by the voter's wishes. Why don't they apply that same standard to themselves? The voters reaffirmed their objections to the Lehtonen's flashing sign for the second time in two years and want them to remove it immediately. Of course, Sandy and Ken have ignored the Townspeople's wishes once again and continue to operate their illegal, hazardous, nuisance of a sign in front of their San-Ken Homes, Inc and RE/MAX Town Square Realty offices. In my opinion and countless other resident's opinion, they have no respect for the residents and officials of the Town of New Ipswich or the Superior Court Judge who also ruled against them twice or the Town's regulations. Hopefully, their creative editing, twisted logic and all the other stunts they have pulled during this last election have opened the eyes of people to just what kind of people Sandra and Kenneth Lehtonen really are. They have lost their battle over and over, but choose not to accept that they are wrong. They can "drop the battle" by removing that sign now, paying the fines and legal fees they owe to the Town and dropping their appeal to the NH Supreme Court. It is "THEIR CHOICE" now.

I respect their right to appeal, but in the meantime, it'd be nice to see some actual decency from KSL- they can shut the sign down while they work on their appeal, and re-light it if they win. I won't hold my breath for that! In the meantime, this sign will most likely go no in NI history as the most expensive sign EVER. Sad- it's well within their control to save their 4, do the right thing, and shut that illegal monstrosity down.

To further show the TRUE character of the Lehtonen's...

Their daughter Rebecca once wrote a 'Letter to the Editor' to the Monadnock Ledger that the Lehtonen's were not going to stoop to name calling and attacking the abutters, they were just turning their cheek. Oh really?

It's come to my attention and MANY others (through a mailer which turns out to be indeed true) that "Kenny" Lehtonen has registered a company name of "Appleton Manor Antiques". So what you say... well this happened after "Kenny" caught wind that one of the abutters went to make sure it would be ok to have an antiques business at their residence (Appleton Manor of course).

So these abutters go through the proper procedure to make sure what they are doing is ok (unlike *cough* another family in town *cough*) and "Kenny" swoops in and steals their business name out of spite. What a !@#$ing horrible thing to do to someone.

So not only do the Lehtonen's disobey town RSA's, ordinances, cease and desist orders, and the will of the towns people they will also steal your business name if you attempt to protect your rights as a tax paying citizen.

Oh, your right, if the vote would have went their way they would have been at the town building first thing Wednesday morning demanding that the town stop it's litigation. So another quality comes out, double standards, you Lehtonens are really on a roll.

I think it's time the town starts to collect the fines ($275 a day since January '05, approximately $200,000) that are owed to us from the Lehtonens, we have a court order to back it up and the Lehtonens have had PLENTY of leniency from the Selectmen to date while the abutters have gotten NOTHING. The fines are for the Lehtonen's disobeying the cease and desist order and have NO bearing on the court case so we don'y need to wait for that outcome, if the town doesn't enforce this then what business will ever listen to the Selectmen?
