In a 206-119 vote by Louisiana high school principals, the LHSAA has approved a landmark decision to split select and non-select schools into separate playoffs in the football postseason.

It will only be Football and there will be no changes until the playoffs. Then they will split from selective to non-selective. I would have liked to see separate districts with each playing each other.

I just believe that it has taken far too long to separate the two. There has always been an unfair advantage for the privet/select schools. They have always recruited players from not only the immediate areas but also from out of the parish which they are located. If they want to compete with the public non select schools simply make the rule that no student athlete who lives out of the immediate area is eligible to play any sports. Simply no recruiting of any player allowed.
