The case is finally solved... a week before election. Go figure. Does the "Sheriff" think this will get him votes? LOL

As quoted from the daily advertiser:

Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon said authorities have identified a few suspects in the two-and-a-half years since the deaths.

"This one guy has been a suspect for some time now," Melancon said.

WHY is the case just being solved NOW?????? If this guy was considered a suspect for a while... why did it take TWO YEARS to finally get him?????

It is being solved because the detectives have stayed working on the case. If this involved being a memeber of your family who was a victim wouldn't you want the best case brought forward to prosecute? As for your assumption that it being done right before election was for votes that is absurd. When it comes down to it the Sheriff does not dictate when a case goes before a Grand Jury. Just because a person becomes a suspect you just go out and arrest them. Good investigations go along quite well with successful prosecution.
