This does not surprise. You mean no knew that 20+ immigrants were living in one apartment. They are do this. They should have stayed in their own country. That's all I got to say.

He should get a medal for owning the building that helped eliminate illegals. I hope the surviving ones were deported.

It's funny when illegals are taken out in large numbers like this.

Nicely done, Mr. Landlord.

The fire trap was jammed with illegal Guatamalans and subdivided into cubicles for the "extended families".

Hey, New York is a sanctuary city and does not enforce any immigration law. The result is crime, death, and misery. Not to mention a huge drain on the taxpayers who have to provide schools, sanitation, police, fire protection, jails, etc. for these criminals. One anchor baby and the whole mob gets welfare, food stamps, and every other social service because their tiny rice & beaner is an "American".

This is what lefty Lib progressive government provides to it's citizens. Jesus H. Christ, we better wake up.

I'm an American and I live two blocks away from the awful fire. The smelled woke me up and I could even smell the burning flesh. For all you people talking a lot of shit. Let me tell you, the landlord of that house is an immigrant himself. And he took advantage of these immigrants. The home owener where I live is an immigrant and he wanted to do the same thing to my apartment and I told him no or I will take him to court. The issue here is that landlords take advantage of people regardless what race they are. End of the story!

Tiny buckets will not do in a large building like that especially if it's illegally divided like that. Not even fire extinguisher will help, especially when the fire has spread rapidly. The fire department said,"Those apartment was illegally divided". You moron!
I see you're from Kentucky where you live in a tiny house and pay $50.00 rent. Come live down here a pay $2,000.00 a month rent. And aside from paying so much rent the cheap walls we have here that you can easily even put a thumbtack through it without any effort what so ever.

They mean to say that:
1. The owner of this house allow immigrants to live in this house illegally and not report them.
2. Illegally divide the apartment into 4, trapping them in such a way that they couldn't escape.
3. Sounds to me human trafficking.
4. Even if the landlord is a Unites States Citizen he shouldn't known better not to divide these apartment. And all he's getting is a 25,000 fine and no jail. I would love to know who's his lawyer. I hope he at least get sued.

What I don't like also is the danger to our valuable firefighters. That is really irritating and should be punished.

you know landlords are scum they are willing to put lots of tenants in apartments but when you want to rent one for yourself and have the income and credit they knock you down, they rather bunch of people to ruin their apt then a harworking person makes no sense and in the end its sad but look what happens. the landlors should be jailed here as well

bensonhurst is known for cramming immigrants in apartments ive been loking for a year for a one bedroom apt and landlords rather lots of immigrants greedy scums loking to make easy money, they are slumlords and allow these people to live like that, landlords should be put away they cause this to happen and yet people like the landlords would be the first to discredit immigrants in this country

Not a single post in this thread is devoid of glaring illiteracy. Most sound like they were written by speakers of English as a second language.

Amazing how some of you hypocrites here are celebrating the deaths of human lives. You keep forgetting that when your ancestors came here from across the Atlantic Ocean in ships, they brought along their criminals and diseases. They were starving and being persecuted in their country, but was fortunate enough to migrate to a better land. When they set foot on U.S. soil, many settled in apartments where they were living 10 to a 2-bedroom apt. This is the history that many today sweep under their rug or don't talk about it at all.

I know what some of you are going to say: "our ancestors did it the legal way," and that's true, but if they were living south of the border and desperate they would have jumped the fence as well.

For all those who are making fun of their deaths, I hope this never happens to you or your family. I lost 3 members of my family to a house fire several years ago, and that is something you will never get over. Legal or illegal, they are human beings just like us.
