The Stephen Avenue home is in North New Hyde Park (New Hyde Park P.O.).

In other words, if you want to send a letter to the Stephen Avenue home, you would address this letter to "New Hyde Park, NY"; however, if you want to actually go to the Stephen Avenue home, you would go to North New Hyde Park.

It is important to note that North New Hyde Park is one of those many villages and hamlets on Long Island where none of the places in the community have the hamlet name in their mailing address.

as occurs in all but one of Nassau County's 136 communities (2 cities, 64 villages and 70 hamlets), the Hamlet of North New Hyde Park has a different border than does the postal zone that services its area. In this case, there is no "North New Hyde Park, NY" postal zone.

Hamlet of North New Hyde Park...1,289*
North New Hyde Park, NY ?????...none

* Includes 10 acres in the Town of Hempstead.

All places within the Hamlet of North New Hyde Park are in the "New Hyde Park, NY 11040" postal zone.

The "New Hyde Park, NY 11040" postal zone is 3,339 acres, and, in addition to the Village of New Hyde Park, the following 7 communities (2 villages and 5 hamlets) seem to be at least partially within the borders of the "New Hyde Park, NY" postal zone and hence places in these communities can have a "New Hyde Park, NY" mailing address: the Village of Lake Success, the Hamlet of Manhasset; the Village of North Hills, the Hamlet of Manhasset Hills, the Hamlet of North New Hyde Park, the Hamlet of Herricks and the Hamlet of Garden City Park.

For a good set of town-by-town maps showing all the villages and hamlets in each of LI's 13 towns:

Have you ever actually had a crack in your home foundation? It's a pretty serious deal. We called http://www.ramjackusa.com when we needed foundation repairs in Raleigh, NC.
