Does it take a criminal to catch a crooked cop?

Full story: TwinCities.com

He goes by the rather grandiose - and wholly invented - name of Taylor Winthorpe Trump.

The cop did wrong, but he is underpaid for doing the job he has and risking his life everyday for 28 years. And, is this how the FBI spends its time? Who's watching the FBI now that Colleen Rowley is organizing protests for the Republican Convention? If this is the level of corruption found in the MPLS Police Dept, then Minneapolis can rest easy at night, except on the North Side.

Yeah, sucks to see cops do worng, but 99% are good people. Sure some are bad, but a lot try to do well. I am not a cop and no I would never want to be one. To much of the "damned if you do damned if you dont"

Cops are doing a job where they are not paid enough and get to much bad press.

I am just a reg Joe work 9-5 at a "corp" job paying my bills and doing what adults do

Being underpaid is no excuse for a police officer breaking the law. He willingly accepted the job, with the pay and the risks clearly spelled out. He violated a sacred trust to the community he is sworn to serve. I am sick and tired of hearing police justify their misdeeds with these spurious excuses. Each corrupt cop further erodes our trust in law enforcement!

Of course, I shouldn't be surprised. This was the same incompetent police department that presented medals of honor to incompetents who raided an innocent man's house.

Why are they trying to play up the fact that the informant has a long criminal history. Happens to people all the time. The guy who squeels gets a deal from the prosecution for ratting out everyone else. Why should prosecuting an officer be any different. If he got caught breaking the law, that's the fact they have to run with. It's the way it's treated for you and me.

What cop has never violated the law or anyone's rights?? Or turned their head while their brothers in Blue did?? If the majority of cops were good we would not be having all the incidents that we have.

Maybe it take an independent department to investigate a fellow Minneapolis Police officer. The Internals Affairs is nothing but a Joke. I told McManus to rename it Damage Control. What going on with Lt. Lee Edwards ? He comminted a crime when he was in charge of Internals Affairs. Nothing got investigated or answeared. Dolan should step down or do your job.

You do know that there are officers making $70,000 to $100,000 today with overtime? I don't think that falls into the underpaid category anymore.

Look what the military gets paid to get shot at daily over in Iraq.

So it turns out that fake criminal that the crooked cop thought was a real criminal, was in fact a real criminal.

Next we'll be informed that the money the crooked cop was getting for selling information to a guy he thought was a criminal had once been used in a drug transaction.

Cops might be making $100,000 in Madison
but they aren't in Mpls and few are making $70,000. Being on patrol in North
Minneapolis? Priceless.

So you must work inside the Mpls Police Dept giving advice to a former Chief. Do you commute from Whittier, California or time travel to work everyday?

I guess you agree with the former Attorney General,
"just because you break the Law doesnt mean your a criminal". Please allow me to HELP you-1)if your under paid we live in American, get a new job that pays more. 2)you cant be a firefighter and start fires (duh) and you cant be a cop and break the law-period point blank. 3)next time read the article before posting a comment, please.I really dont want to waste another second on this stupid argument.

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Scorpio

Let the past stay in the past for now. Even though you may have fond memories of intense experiences, the Virgo Moon sees to it that you have virtually no desire to go there again just yet. This is your opportunity to show others what you can do in a more civilised environment. Don't try to shout down someone who is rude enough to interrupt. As unlikely as it may seem, the softest voice has the biggest chance of being heard today.
