Here’s what I mean:

A Friday ago, I wanted to throw a shoe at the TV (not Bush).

NBC was talking to a jobless couple whose house is in foreclosure. On the driveway was a Nissan. I shouted,“Hey, Guys, a couple in Japan are bowing at you for their Nissan jobs.”

Jobless Americans driving Japanese vehicles....helping put even more Americans out of work! Duh!!!!!!

And then I see people trying to ease their consciences by putting US flag decals on their prides of Japan. Ugh!

So, when I see someone parking one I want to say:“You’re hurting America’s economy.” But I don't.

Instead, I tell myself, THEY JUST DON’T KNOW. The Japanese have been seducing them for 20 years now. They give their cars and trucks American-sounding names. And our media gives them billions in free advertising that they’re supposedly better.* Also, they flood us with seductive ads. So, no wonder some people drive Japanese.

(*See March ‘09 Owens report: For reliability Buick is No. 1, tops Lexus. Lincoln & Mercury in top 5. Today, the only differences between Japanese and American, are in minds influenced by media touting Japanese cars. Yes, our media is BIASED and has been for years. This has played no small role in putting America's automakers in a pit.)

The Japanese have done a super job of getting our media to help them takeover our market by plugging their vehicles, and doing it FOR FREE. These people are incredibly shrewd!

Now, I expect Toyota and Honda people to jump me:“Hey, we give America jobs. Our cars are built in the USA by Americans. That makes them American.”

HOGWASH!

Fact: MOST Japanese vehicles sold here come from Japan by boat. As to those that are assembled here, we get about 250,000 jobs. And WHAT A PRICE we pay for them!

Just ask this: Irrespective of where this car or truck I’m buying or leasing is assembled, what country benefits from the profit made on it? Fact: every year Japanese mother-corporations back in Japan reap billions from vehicle sales in the USA. Yes, almost 1/3 of their income comes from the USA. And needless to say, the billions they make on us help Japan, NOT America!

We’re Japan’s cash cow! This, despite almost 50 million of us with no health care, 37 million in poverty, 12 million kids hungry every day, 77,000 bridges close to collapse, highways crumbling, intercity schools deteriorating, and unemployment 13 million and climbing.

Considering those facts, we feed Japan? In return, can we build and sell cars there? No! They won’t buy “nuttin” from us! They’ve even refused to buy our apples. Unlike us, they’re fiercely loyal to their own products. They in effect close their 160-million-person market to us. Yet they FEAST on America. They believe in fair trade everywhere but in Japan.

At least the Germans, who sell cars here, let us build and sell ours in Germany. And the Chinese do too. So do the French, Spanish, Italians, British, and South Americans. Our cars are liked and bought almost everywhere but Japan. Think about it!

As to jobs the Japanese so “generously” give us: adding suppliers, we get about 300,000. Now, it’s estimated, we’ve already lost a million jobs from “FOREIGN-CAR-I-TIS.” And if we keep burying our heads in the sand about this, and our own makers lose more market, estimates say up to 4 or 5 million more of us will lose jobs. And some predict with trickle-down it could be more like 6 million.

So, for those 300,000 jobs, we could lose 6 million. This is OK? We just turn our cheeks, let this happen?

NO! NO! That’s not the American way! We’re not quitters! We must fight back by supporting our own industry: FEED HANDS THAT FEED US!

DRIVE AMERICAN! Support our own economy, not Japan’s.

P.S. Join this battle to save American jobs. Use the email link at the top-upper-right to send this message to as many people as possible!

Are you out of your mind? Buying one car over another is not the point. As Americans, have the freedom to buy whatever we want to buy. In some countries, the government decides what you buy. Period. It has nothing to do with anything except personal preference. If the bone-heads at GM and Ford want to go back to #1 and #2 again, then they'll build cars that are cheaper and more reliable than their competition. And they'll fire most of their bean-counters, too. That is called COMPETITION. Don't knock it!

You think the playing field is level????

Level when the Japanese get billions in free advertising from our biased media, who keep touting Japanese vehicles and panning American ones year after year. This makes it a nightmare for them to compete with the Japanese. So, we lose jobs, jobs, jobs!

And the Japanese yearly milk us for three billion dollars.

If this doesn't bother you, it sure does me and millions of other Americans.

It's time we wake up and smell the Japanese manure.

Support our economy, DRIVE AMERICAN!

AmarilloGuy,

You kid us not! You sell Japanese cars. You have an axe to grind, your paycheck.

If you're such a fan of Japan, keep in mind:

JAPAN AIRLINES IS READY WHEN YOU ARE! They have some terrific one-way fares.

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Gemini

Grit your teeth as Mars turns retrograde, as things annoyingly don't go to plan. Certain people are going out of their way to be difficult. Is an older relative throwing the proverbial weight around and telling you what to do? The greater the gap between your ages or social status, the more irritated you'll be.
