The US has disbanded the tobacco quota system and now we can grow as much as we want........but remember you have to store it if the prices arent right. Then you got to save it for the next years auctions....tobacco like any crop is subject to economic conditions.

No, it only points out that I did not grow up in Canada but was born in Europe. I have an accent as well.
I do not smoke. I used to but quit 20 years ago.
I believe in the right of adults to make their choice.

Does that choice you speak of allow for the adult Private property owners to allow smoking on their premises if they choose.??

My belief is that it should allow adult private property owners to choose whether they allow smoking in their homes or places of business.
But in Canada, we do not have that choice. Restaurants, stores, government and public offices, or any building are all non-smoking. Smokers have to stay 9 metres away from any building to smoke outside.

I remember having really nice time sitting in with some musicians in Stratford a few years back.
I wouldn't be surprised if that particular bar is now boarded up.

Unfortunately, yes.
Convenience stores also have to hide cigarettes being sold behind so-called power walls (covered shelf). If a customer wants to know what brands are available they have to look through a binder where the different brands are listed.
That is the law since May 31, 2008.

To SmokerDude: In Canada statistics show that within the legal cigarette industry sales have
gone down but contraband sales account for 40% of cigarettes sold so all these laws are not helping,
they are only hurting legal business.

In Ontario, Canada the premier also wants to make it illegal to smoke in your own car when a child is present and will charge you with child abuse if you do so.

I am a pusher of tobacco, I grow tobacco for resale, I traffic my tobacco like a dope dealer, I care not about your childrens smoking habits I sale to anyone.......on the streets of new york my pushers get a buck per smoke.....I am just a capitalist out to make that buck stolen from the antis mommas purse by her kids.........their mothers anti-freedom speeches have turned them against her and so they smoke as its now cool and evil..........Who am I ? why, I am not big tobacco but AL CAPONE/ in another time, come back to reap the profits of prohibition again.
