Full story: Philadelphia Inquirer

A 32-year-old man stormed a one-room Amish school this morning, bound female students, shot three dead execution-style, and wounded seven others before turning the gun on himself, state police said.

I spend a lot of time in Bird in Hand, Paradise,
Intercourse, Lancaster, Blue Ball and all the surrounding areas-I come there for the peace and comfort that the people in these communities bring to me and feeling of safety-how could anyone harm these people that live such quiet and decent lives-
at first I was so very angry then I just felt lost that if someone could be go horrible to harm these people and these children that our world is doomed and there is no hope that the end of time must be near-my heart is with the amish and my prayers
no matter how many I offer up will never be enough.

I have 2 small children that both attend private school. That was a step taken to try to seclude my children from public schools and ( columbine ) horrors. Its sickening to know that someone could do something like that, and to helpless, harmless children. You wanna take your own life DO IT. What did these innoscent children have to do with anything??? Hearing things like this make me sick to my stomache.

What sort of twisted, sick person could be so unhappy with something that happened many years before, take it out on some little girls in a one room school house? How can a person hate or want revenge that bad? What would drive a person to that type of horror, and what sort of gratification would you get from such an act? I spent twenty years training to kill people and did so, but never, never would something like that enter my mind. What a worthless fool!!!

Tamara said it is a Godless country :

It certainly is because the people themselves have pushed him out all by their greedy, snobby, uppity and better than you attitudes on life. ACLU, rights are for all who agree with the liberal ACLU, all others have no rights. The society as a child when I was a child does not reflect even the tinniest image of what we now have today. No Christmas or
prayers in schools started a serious down hill slide
not to mention the newer rules of liberal non discipline for all those wonderful kids growing up with chips on their shoulders just waiting to go off and blame all the people who lost their rights to the ACLU.

I got so into expressing feelings on why things like this are happening so often now that I forgot to mention the tears that fall when you fully picture the horror these little children went thru.
the latest update is 4 have perished and a 5th may be likely and I can't start to imagine the suffering and broken hearts all over the Amish communities everywhere. These were probably the most inocent of children any where.
Been there done that

I wonder if the guys' happier now that he blew away some little, helpless girls? Twenty years driving around in a truck. Twenty years went by, why now? Why give a crap now? This story just sickens me. Nobody around him had any idea of his capabilites to harm or kill? His hatred? No indication whatsoever?

And yet, I am 'way more conservative than you, and I don't blame the "liberal ACLU."
I blame the fools who say that guns don't kill people. This monster should never have had a gun. We need natonal gun control (not taking guns, but checking and registering their owners.)

The anti-Jesus worship of wealth prevalent in the present political leadership is far mor detrimental to society than preventing you from celebrating Christmas in school.

And, as you refuse to admit, the alternate course of celebrating all religion of all children is unacceptable to peope who probably think just like you.

In other words, this tragedy is not about "liberal or conservative," not about "Jesus in public schools" but about a monster. A solitary evil monster.

It isn't a Godless country. Thier community is already starting to forgive after such a terrible loss.

I was born and raised in York, Pa and spent every weekend in Lancaster and surrounding Amish areas. As I remember they got respect from outsiders easily because they deserved it. In my eyes as a child they seemed to me to be the kindest people on earth. My sympathy goes out to the families of the victims.

MrBill: You must have missed my point as to the relevance of the ACLU and the way it has reshaped the lives and minds of people over the years. Good wholesome traditions and ways of life being trashed over the concepts of a new world order. I believe the dramatic changes over the past 10 to 15 years is
some where at the core of a society gone mad. You are right that he is a evil monster but we seem to be having an over flow of solitary evil monsters.

BBG: I sure hope you don't believe this happened so people could find forgiveness for it!!!!!

Oh yea, MrBill, If you don't see the changes and good solid reasons why and I'm talking about every thing in America now being out of wack, porn, child porn, Child molestation and rape, bad priest, bad preachers, pedefiles, coruption from business to
government, drugs and an overflow of whacko's killing at will then maybe it is not I who refuses to admit but perhaps you may be way out of touch with whats been for hundreds of years a good solid American way of life complete with Honor and God.
Just wait another 10 years and see how much worse it gets.

Greed has infected our country, not Liberals, pure greed. You need to remember that when the price of gas goes up again after the November elections. The Republicans will see to that!

I can't even imagine the range of emotions the parents of those girls are feeling right now. I pray that they can rest in God and know that the girls are now safe with him. I have a 3 year daughter at home and I know how I would react and feel at this time.....why. We are praying for these families in Iowa.
