Im pretty sure if we knew it was a puppy mill we wouldn't have bought the puppies and we would have reported it.
Thank you captain obvious.

Why dont you put your effort towards stopping these people instead of being an ass to the good people who are just trying to warn others.

I think these people are back out and doing this again! My boyfriend and I bought a puppy in may 2010, and he is very sick. We were rushed in and out, they would not let us see the mom/dad because "they were closing" and when she tried to get me to pay 680 for a beagle puppy with no papers, i told her we were going to leave. she said, oh let me call my husband....minutes later she said okay...what about 450...so stupidly we paid 450. She told us as we were leaving, "dont tell your friends i did this for you"...as they were taking the puppies out back...no keeping them in the store? Sketchy sketchy people. So when the name posted on my credit card bill...the name came up "STEPHANIE STOLTZFUS CONOWINGO". We paid over 500 dollars in vet bills. Our puppy has a tape worm, inflammation of the intestines, and heart worms.
These people are running this in a pet store on the side of the road in Germantown, MD. She gave me a business card with the name "Stephanie's Designer Puppies". They have ad's in the penny saver....her email is Steph_morales@mail.com. Horrible, horrible people. Please spread the word.
Again.........

Good God!! Do you know how many dogs need homes?

Stop fighting among yourselves and put all that energy into shutting these horrible mills.

And to say that people got what they deserved is simply mean spirited. They didn't know any better and that's why we who know more about these mills should educate people before they buy and not yell at them after the fact.

Tips: Stay away from designer dogs where you will pay top dollar for a dog that will have genetic defects. Don't buy from a pet store ever!!! They get their dogs from brokers who buy from the puppy mills. Don't buy a dog from a splashy internet ad...they can and will say anything. Many so called breeders on the internet ads are fronts for puppy mills.

If you want a purebred dog, ask your vet for a recommendation or kennel club for that particular breed.

Final tip - if you want a designer dog which is simply another name for a mixed breed? Then rescue, rescue, rescue!!!

Lovaldgs - they need us!!!!

Both internet sites you mention are definitely advertising for puppy mills. Don't get a dog shipped to you and get pulled in by the glitzy ads and promises on these sites. They can and will say anything to get you to buy one of their puppies.

Please if you want a dog go to your local shelter or rescue. It breaks my heart everytime I hear or read about people buying dogs from pet stores or these puppy mills. Only way to put puppy mills out of business is to adopt! I got my baby from the Lancaster Humane Society and I have had her for five years and she has been very healthy and plus she is the biggest lovebug in the world. Save life, dont add to the puppy mill problem.
Also spay or nueture your dogs and cats!

Almost got caught up in this one. If is wasn't for you're info I would have gotten caught up in this bad place. Thanks. As for adopting, If you need a specific breed mix because of allergies it is hard to find one at a shelter. I have a great dog I rescued that is hypoallergenic but that was a stroke of luck.

March of 2010 supposedly for the last time, the Puppy Love/CCPets was shut down. I have been doing a lot of research lately in reguards to the kennel. I purchased a dog from Joyce back in 2003. He cost me 350 to buy him. Within the hour of getting him in the car, he started getting sick. 4 days later I was taking him to a veterinary ER because he wouldn't eat and continued to get sick. I was constantly attempting contact with Joyce, who tried everything to pretend it was common. My puppy had kennel cough. I was told I was getting a FOX TERRIER. I kept looking up online about them, and found out there was NO WAY he was a FOX, turned out he was a RAT TERRIER. I love my dog, he is now 6 almost 7 years old, and I fought for my dog.

I will tell ANYONE who has bought a dog from these people, FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT. Keep it within the limits of the law, but fight. I got all my vet bills covered because I took it to every avenue I could think of. I was on the phone non stop, I documented EVERYTHING (still have it all). Joyce had to repay my vet bills, and a year later, I received additional retribution when the state came down on them, not for the first or last time, but they were ordered to pay out to all complaintants.

Joyce and her daughter (or daughter in law) are now operated in Conowingo Maryland, just outside the PA state line. I'm now fighting for a friend who bought a pup just this sunday and is having issues. Please don't give up, continue the battle against these horrible people. I believe that if one state won't allow you to sell something, ALL states should follow to the same theory.

FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT.

And please, do not buy without research, had I or my friend double checked on this place first, I would have stopped her before we left the door.

I am glad that I took the time to google 'Stephanie's Designer Puppies'... yes they are up to it again only with a different email and using different names. I recieved an email from Steff Ann and the email is juniorisnumberone@yahoo.com. I actually have a reputable breeder in mind and will not be using Stephanie's services.

My boyfriend and I also bought a dog from this awful woman! Thankfully our dog hasn't had any medical problems, however we were definately lied to! We told her the sad story of how our precious little morkie died... she turned around and sold us a "morkie" she claimed would not get any bigger than 6/7 lbs. Our dog is now pushing 12 lbs and come to find out he is a peekapoo NOT a morkie! We've had him for 6 months now and while we love him, he is not the dog that we were hoping to fill the void of the dog we lost! I feel she took advantage of our desperate situation and charged us $636 for a dog that she lied about! My boyfriend and I plan on getting a dog DNA test and confronting her about this!

Stop buying from places like this....they get their dogs from puppy mills.

Not sure you'll get any satisfaction from confronting her but you can try. Did you get any guarantee in writing? If not than you have no chance of any satisfaction.

People - if you want designer dogs?? Rescue, rescue, there are loads of designer dogs (another name for mixed breed) waiting for homes.

We had the same situation and are wondering how your puppy is now. We are concerned that these are lifelong defects and we will be constantly paying for vet bills. How is your puppy feeling? Please help.
