I live in Lancaster county among
all the Amish. Alot of people think that they
never talk to or have friends outside the amish
community. This is not true. They are very friendly people who will talk to you and wave at you as you drive by. My daughter loves to sit out front and wave to all the buggies as they go by. They do not drive but do get rides from other people when they need to. They are not weird in anyway. They do not think electric is this big huge sin. They just think that they would be tempted more to sin if they had tv, computer ect. Some modern Amish even have electric. Just like us they sometimes have some bad people once in a while who do wrong. But they are mostly peaceful people who live for God and family. They dont think cars are a sin they just thing family should stay close and that cars make people move far away from each other. Do a search for Amish books and you can learn at great deal about how they live. Or just come on over to Lancaster county. We would love to have you!
So many fun things to see and do here!
I am very interested in Amish and Lancaster County I have read all the books "the shunning " "The Reckoning" and 2 more but off the top of my head I can't remember. I would love to meet some of the Amish they seem like the most humblest down to earth people, something you don't find put here in the world. It would be an honour to me to have one as a friend.

CHRIST was the original communist if you look at what and how he taught
that's why christianity has been such a failure in the united states ! americans do not believe in equality for all under all circumstances !
Herr Scouter Pie:
Ich habe Ihm etwas zu sagen. I have something to say to you. I think you need to go to a country of atheists like Russia, Cuba or any communist country and see how a homosexual like you will fare. Equality is not for sinful behavior which Christians the Bible and God declare homosexuality to be. Don't feel bad, heterosexual sin like adultry is not considered something to give equality to either. I think you have been around through these forums enough to have heard that through Christ ( who you said is the origional communist ) you can change from the homosexual lifestyle.

thank you for your input. i have no need to move nor to change from who and what i am as i am who and what GOD created and loves and i show my gratitude to GOD by following what THE CHRIST taught, lived, and died (psst - in case you don't know what that is i'll tell you - it's love !)

i have met amish people and think that they are all very nice and moral people. but i feel that if everyone was amish then no new technology would be invented, no medicine would be improved. we cant live like it's a hundred years in the past. the world NEEDS improvement someone needs to do it.

All God's creatures - including dogs should live with dignity. It would be a better day for all of us if the dogs were let out of cages, fed a good meal, have access to clean water, a warm bed and allowed to run free for a few hours each day. It would be a great day if they were taken to a vet when they were sick and spayed or neutered before six months of age. Dogs are living, breathing creatures - not merchandise. Let's treat them well.

I regret not living in Pennsylvania where I could vote for Governor Rendell and support his actions toward improving the lives of dogs. There's a special place in heaven for men like this Governor.

Dear malcolm and angus,
I am sure the Amish will not accept me either into their community. The thing I admire in the Amish is they had shown Jesus example of forgiveness.
I am glad they follow Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus never rejects anyone.
