I live in Lancaster county among
all the Amish. Alot of people think that they
never talk to or have friends outside the amish
community. This is not true. They are very friendly people who will talk to you and wave at you as you drive by. My daughter loves to sit out front and wave to all the buggies as they go by. They do not drive but do get rides from other people when they need to. They are not weird in anyway. They do not think electric is this big huge sin. They just think that they would be tempted more to sin if they had tv, computer ect. Some modern Amish even have electric. Just like us they sometimes have some bad people once in a while who do wrong. But they are mostly peaceful people who live for God and family. They dont think cars are a sin they just thing family should stay close and that cars make people move far away from each other. Do a search for Amish books and you can learn at great deal about how they live. Or just come on over to Lancaster county. We would love to have you!
So many fun things to see and do here!

I've been to Lancaster, PA several times and loved it. The people are wonderful and kind, and the land is beautiful. The Amish are an extremely gentle and loving people.

I have read THE STOREKEEPER'S DAUGHTER, THE QUILTER'S DAUGHTER and THE BISHOP'S DAUGHTER by Wanda E. Brunstetter. WHEN THE HEART CRIES by Cindy Woodsmall and I am now reading THE ENGLISHER by Beverly Lewis. These books have sparked so much interest about the amish that I have gone to the website and plan a trip to visit this spring/summer. I am considering reservations at the After Eight B & B in Gordonville. Any advise on anything I certainly don't want to miss on my visit?

I am friends with author, Sicily Yoder aka Teresa Phillips, who has some information on her website at www.teresaphillips.com . She was Old Order Amish for 2 years, being engaged to an Amish man, and was Mennonite up til 18 months ago. You can see an article about her Amish diversity tour aT WWW.kentucky.com , or her latest interview at www.wtvq.com . Click on, "Video on Demand", then, on the next page, at the top, click on, "Top Local Stories", and you can view the whole interview. She will have her own cooking show on Amihs Canadian television next year. the Amish taught her how to cook everything. Her email is [email protected]

I forgot to mention two of Sicily Yoder's friends, Wanda brunstetter, who asked Sicily questions for her, "The Storekeeper's daughter", and Beverly Lewis, both ladies have Mennonite background. Also, Irene Garrett is former Old Order Amish. Sicily did an Amish documentary with her. I've read other books, but, according to Sicily and Rebecca( an Amish girl), they aren't accurate.

Hello! I'm Mário, I am Portuguese and I live in Portugal. I'm Christian and it's usually I go to the Adventist church.
I have live very out of this society because I asked God to revel me the true, and now
I think that this way to live it’s complete wrong. I like, if some one don’t mind to tell me the way you live. I’d like to know if you eat all the meat or if you work on Saturday and I like to know if it’s possible when I think in go to spent holidays in your country to spent my holidays in a place where I can live in a Amish hotel or something seemed. Thank you. If some one of you have the messenger, it’s good and easier to talk. Sorry my English but I spent a few hears without speak English.

I luv people like The Amsih, The Quakers etc. They are still the Torch-bearers of the Truth and their light shines in this DARK WORLD.

" Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. "

WHY IS THAT SEGREGATION SEEMS TO BE CORNERSTONE TO CURE ALL IMPURITIES TO IDEAL WORLD?

Because:

Lord Jesus Christ said:

"Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is easy, that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.

For the gate is narrow and the way is hard, that leads to life, and those who find it are few."

If we choose to enter by narrow gate while all others are entering through wide gate, we get separated.

To make it clear, Many people love evil; while few love Purity. People who like to be pure have no other way than to SEPARATE themselves from the others.

MICHAEL, forgive me, but if i was a black man, who admired the amish people and their way of life, how can i embrace that way of life, if they will not accept me as just another follower of God? Does race matter to God?

Dear malcolm and angus,

I am sure the Amish will not accept me either into their community. The thing I admire in the Amish is they had shown Jesus example of forgiveness.

I am glad they follow Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus never rejects anyone.

CHRIST was the original communist if you look at what and how he taught

that's why christianity has been such a failure in the united states ! americans do not believe in equality for all under all circumstances !
