Lets just put an end to this thread before the normal crap start's to flow. I am Garrett's father, our family is heartbroke over some of the the choices he's made over the past two years. Because of Garrett's enability to deal with the problem he has, we as loving parents had to interviene and make some very difficult decisions for him. We were able to save our child and get him the help he needs to survive. Our first priority was to get him away from the element. The only way to do that was jail. I wouldn't wish this on any parent, however many of you have this same issue going on directly under your nose and, are either ignoring it, or don't know how to handle it. People with this problem have to hit bottom before they will realize their situation. We could not sit idly by and watch this happen. Parent's have to be pro-active and take control to combat this isssue. We saved our son. His, so called, friends never lifted a finger to help, they've not called with their concerns, they've not inquired about bonding him out, they just continue to do what they do. PARENT,S GET INVOLVED! Your child's life is worth it. Garrett will be getting out next Monday. He has agreed to enter a Program and will be escorted directly there. This is the total story. Please show us this courtesy: Let us grieve in peace.

Get real, Garrett is a loser drug addict, sending your son to jail isn't going to help an addict, everyone knows as soon as he gets out he's goin right across the river and gettin somethin.

mr kaylor is correct in his reponse. i work with a lady that her son has had issues with drugs for the past 8 years, she always bailed him out of jail and would get the charges dropped, to me that doesn't help they never learn from that. i agree with mr. kaylor on what he put in his repsonse. i have known garrett for a long time, and hes a good kid.... it just crushed me when i seen his picture on there. i hope he gets the help he needs and i will pray for him and his family..

With all due respect to Mr. Kaylor, choosing a public forum to discuss your son's recent arrest and incarceration does not support your quest to "grieve in peace." Your son could have used your love, support and attention years ago. I agree that Garrett was a good kid, but unfortunately it's long past time to grow up. This train wreck could have been avoided had he learned to be accountable for his own behavior. It's time to quit blaming others for the actions of your son. He has only himself to blame for being behind bars. I'm puzzled as to why would you expect "friends" to call with concern or even go so far as to bail him out of jail, when you, yourself, would not do the same for him. Like yourself, perhaps true friends also distance themselves with their own version of tough love.

Everyone makes mistakes and Garrett deserves a chance at a normal, happy life. It is my hope that he will pick himself by his bootstraps and overcome his recent struggles. Lets hope his arrogant attitude has been sincerely humbled and that he moves forward as an honorable young man.

Garrett: You are in the thoughts and prayers of many. We wish you all the best in your recovery.

Garrett is a good boy with a bad drug habit. He has chosen drugs over his family, his friends and his job. His parents are doing the right thing by putting him in jail but it will ultimately be up to him to find the help he needs. If he continues on in the path he has chosen it will only lead to prison or death. He needs to realize there is more to life than drugs. Everyone needs to stop looking at drug addicts and alcoholics as the scum of the earth and realize that no one sets out to be addicted to drugs or alcohol, there is an underlying factor (depression, feelings of inadequacy, feelings of being a failure, etc.)that drives them there and once we can discover what that problem is a try to turn it around instead of putting them down and making them feel as if they have no right to be free or even alive, we will always have drug addicts and the like.

Garrett is one of my friends. I spoke with him today via telephone, he is now in a program and loves it. He said he was happy to be away from that lifestyle, feels so much better and would definitly recommend the program to anybody that has that problem. He also said everybody that has this problem should be there. Good luck Garrett!!!!!!!!!!

Mr. Kaylor...
My family and I support you and your family during this tough time. You are in our thoughts and prayes. You made one of the hardest decisions a parent could ever have to make, but you did so in good knowing that there would be consequences, and hard feelings, but not letting that stand in your way on your quest to help your son with the love support and care that he needs, and bring your family together in these tough times. I both commend and support your decision, and through hope, faith, and love, you and your family will prevail. Good luck

Garrett is not a loser. He is a great kid and has a very loving, caring family there to support him. He is lucky that he has parents like he does..that actually care about him and his actions! It's not even any of your buisness to talk about Garrett when you don't know what really happened.
~With all do respect, Garrett and his family are in my thoughts and prayers. Good luck~

to everyone talkin crap (good or bad). thank you so much for your concerns. My life is better than it has ever been today thanks to the love and care of my family, friends, state police, and more importantly a power greater than myself which i choose to call god. my past was tough and dark but today it is my greatest asset for it is something that by the grace of god i need not return to. addiction is a terrible DISEASE and it takes a spiritual awakening to recovery from. It is not easy and recovery is to be put before all things in life. Its progress not perfection! My past was no joke and I went hard on the streets, so its time to go hard for sobriety. If someone in active addiction can put half the vil into recovery as they did getting high then recovery is possible. I am no saint but if anyone needs help with alcoholism or addiction just look me up i would be more than happy to share some experience, strength, and hope with you. Life is wonderful today and i am blessed to be open-minded and willing. I have learned to enjoy time on earth instead of DOING time here. if i can do it so can you!!!! sorry to everyone i have done wrong things to and God bless you all
