Well Julie found out that someone was the meanest mother------ in the valley and has endured some very severe physical and emotional damage at his hands.

I think this is out of our hands and we need to believe in Julie as she knows what is best for herself and her family. None of us have walked in their shoes. It is so easy to judge and tell yourself a story and believing you know what is bests for someone else, when not really knowing either of them or all the facts. I just hope her family and friends step up and support her and her children, that is what is most important.

The preliminary examination of a Shelby Township police officer accused of assaulting his wife took place May 13 in 52-3 District Court in Rochester.

Shelby Township Police Officer David Essad was arrested shortly after midnight April 12 by Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies in a Rochester Hills parking lot after a passerby reported seeing a man and woman lying on the ground near a car. Essad was taken into policy custody, and charged later that morning on charges of felonious assault and aggravated domestic violence.

At the preliminary examination May 13, Julie Essad testified before Judge Nancy Carniak that her husband had grown violent with her on the way home from a bar the evening of April 11. The couple had been celebrating Julie Essad’s birthday with friends at Gus O’ Connor’s in Rochester and left shortly after 11 p.m.

Julie Essad said the couple left because her husband had too much to drink. During the evening, she said, he had consumed beer, scotch and a Long Island iced tea. He also had allegedly become aggravated when Julie Essad spoke briefly with an old boyfriend.

We are discussing Wife Beaters "The people of God", and how many people think, an incident like this was just a 1 time thing that was triggered off.

And its a good discussion, maybe it will give some woman thats being abused, the strength to leave her abuser. Because they never change, no matter what they say.

And he was a Real 3rd Degree Black Belt, and he tried to use that on me.

People like this have a phycotic personality type, thats who they are, its not just a 1 time thing. This is how they have "always" been, so yes, I believe Joe, because what he says is believeable of this type of character type.

Sure my exhusband was real nice to your face and could look all innocent to anyone. "Manipulation" is an art to them, and they play it to perfection, and part of that Phycotic behavior type.

If Julie is living with this ex-boyfriend now, perhaps David's behavior that day doesn't go unwarranted. Suppose what happened that day, the affair was bust out wide open - and the overwhelming emotion was too much for David to handle. This guy isn't a robo-cop without a heart is he? Simply a human facing rejection. Anyhow, was there any record of him abusing or beating his wife before? "Thumbs-up to Joe" may have simply married a wife abuser and most likely tarnished her views of males in this world and thus uses this forum to bash yet 'another man.' And as for Joe, if you found out today that your wife/girlfriend were cheating on you - would you simply walk away? From your vindictive nature on this discussion, I am thinking you will figure out some way to fit "she slept with dogs and abused cats" into your accusations against her in between bashing her skull against the ground and biting her ear. With womens rights, we now must see this as two equal parties with just cause on both sides. It is not a man/woman issue, but a person/person issue. Julie is responsible for the affair and it's consequences, as David is responsible for his reactions to such. Both sides are equally at fault. Wow, ok looks like Judy forgot her meds this week! For one, I never once claimed to be a family member. Two, for the tenth time, I went to school with David at Utica. He used to kill cats, once tried to rape a dog, and the last time I heard from him he was messing with students in the girls bathroom at Eisenhower. No, I don't know Julie and that's not the point. The point is out of the blue I find this article about the psycho misfit weirdo kid from high school who became a cop and who got busted for beating on his wife in a jealous rage cause she was talking to her ex. You can't write this stuff!

It's a GREAT story. It's the kind of story I come to topix for. Sometimes entertainment is right there in front of your face. I've been sitting here enjoying watching this unfold for weeks now. Best part, I'm allowed to do that and no one can do anything about it. Not David, not his mommy Judy, no one. Sorry if I enjoy watching this dude's life fall apart. He deserves it.

Um...yes. I suppose you are either ugly or insecure, which is why you ask me this but I'm neither.

Maybe for a guy like David who had a hard time getting on chicks he saw no other choice than to beat Julie up for talking to another guy, but for people with confidence, people who don't put their lives in the hands of others, the logical next move is to walk away and find someone else to hang out with. Millions of people across the world break up every day and not too often is the end result a gun to the face. Sometimes I wonder how many crazy insecure people I actually live around when I read this crap. Scary!

Joe, early early on you mentioned being two grades behind David. Was he a bully to you or something? And in your quote above, you "heard" from him he was messing with students in the girls bathroom at Eisenhower? Did you 'hear' this directly from David, or somebody else? You know you shouldn't believe everything you 'hear'. It's not appropriate making unsubstantiated claims against somebody. Even the 'God People' would call that 'baring false witness' against your neighbor.
