Nearly 100% of these violent crimes in these terrorist-infested cities are committed by blacks. The exception is the occasional Hispanic. Things will get worse before people stop being PC by ignoring this fact.

HARTFORD -- Federal, state and local enforcement are targeting gun-related violence in the inner cities.

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy said "Focused Deterrence" will single out repeat offenders in Bridgeport, Hartford and New Haven to cut down on incidents of black-on-black violence.

"We cannot stand back and watch more of our young people die," Malloy said in an afternoon news conference with U.S. Attorney David Fein.

The program, which has had success in cities including Boston, Chicago and Providence, R.I., will put increased scrutiny on those with records of criminal violence.

The key is gaining the support of inner-city communities, including clergy and normal residents.

"Too many of our nation's youth are stripped of the promise of a bright future by their exposure to violence and crime," Fein said.

In the last two months, federal probes into urban drug trafficking have resulted in 200 arrests and 40 weapons seizures in the three cities, Fein said.

Malloy and Fein were joined by Hartford Mayor Pedro Segarra, New Haven Mayor John DeStefano and Bridgeport Police Chief Joseph Gaudett.

There have been 10 homicides in Bridgeport so far this year. At a summit held in the city earlier this month to discuss the crime problem, Gaudett said there has been a 25 percent spike in homicides compared to this time last year and a 32 percent surge in robberies. As of June 6, Gaudett said, there have been 34 shooting victims in the city.

In a statement released by his office, Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch said, "One death is one too many; an innocent child caught in the crossfire is unacceptable. We have been working hard in Bridgeport reaching out to the community to keep the lines of communication open to my office and the police department. I support the governor's initiative and we will continue to collaborate with state and federal law enforcement officials to stem the tide of illegal guns used in these violent acts."

The city of Hartford experienced a particularly violent weekend earlier this month when 10 people were shot. Two of them died. Police said a 16-year-old from Windsor and a 24-year-old Hartford man were found shot to death on June 9 in separate incidents.

There have been nine homicides in Hartford and eight in New Haven this year.

The Associated Press contributed to this story.

Guess that 'BUY BACK PROGRAM" didn't work so well. Tsk Tsk
Perhaps if they keep shooting themselves, we won't have to worry about these criminals shooting us.
Only thing is who pays for the emergency room visits made every wknd? Oh, silly me, you and I are. Increased insurance premiums.

Many writers like to crack you over your head if they did not have to go to jail. Shame on you.

Here's MY plan: how about a whiz quiz (urine test) for ALL people on welfare? If they test positive for drugs, no check. If you have to submit to a mandatory drug test in order to get a job, why not in order to get a welfare check? Fair is fair.
Also, women with more than 2 children fathered by different guys (because, really, they're not men if they don't step up to take care of their kids) should have to have their tubes tied (mandatory).
AND (here's the big one) the parents have to take PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY for their children! If the kid(s) gets in trouble with the law, and the kid is underage, the PARENTS get punished! Probation for 1st offenders, jail time and/or fines for repeats. Can't pay the fine? Do the time. Once the parents know that THEY will get punished, maybe they'll take the initiative and TEACH THEIR KIDS about PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY.

We can only hope.

Sorry, no. You can teach your kids personal responsibility until you are blue in the face, some just won't get it. You can have one perfect kid and one in jail, was it because you did something wrong? Didn't teach them right? No, kids are human's with minds of their own and their own will. Kids will rebel against their parents and their teachings. Look at the kids who bullied the school bus monitor, one parent I saw was devastated. They taught the kid right from wrong, how to treat people and it still happened. There has been studies about the teenage brain which likened them to psychopath's.

And good luck with the tube tying idea.

But I'm with you on the urine test.

I hear ya, but some people, if they're acting like animals, perhaps the only solution is to treat them like animals? I don't know. It was just a thought. There are a couple of states that have already started the urine testing thing for people who are on the dole. I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing...

They really are animals. The urine test is a good idea. I`m so sick of supporting these welfare chimps. They don`t appreciate it anyways, and it certainly doesn`t make them cross the street any faster.

A form of modern day slavery would be nice, too. Just say that it`s a program for violent criminals. (Even though the Liberals would still cry about it) That`s a great way to get the blacks back on the fields and away from the human population.
