This is the same guy that wrote a great book called "Out in Bad Standings: Inside the Bandidos Motorcycle Club" in 2005. He was also a contributing author to "The Mammoth Book of Bikers" in 2007. Both books are available at all book stores worldwide.

This is an obviously well educated, well spoken guy who certainly breaks out of the "typical" mold the general public views bikers as.
I look forward to reading his book and can highly recommend his first book "Out in Bad Standing".

I'm with the Big Raven what kinda person is this? no character there for telling the stories and making himself out like a hero. He should be ashamed of himself talking about the Hells Angels the other Clubs and thinking he's all that givng up the Brothers doing drugs, etc. Why doesn't he just stay inside his house and remember the good times he had and why he had them. He's not right for exploiting his stupid life stories.

I think that Ed Winterhalder is a very gifted person.. writing and owning construction companies. I read his last book "Out in bad Standings" it was well put together. I feel he should release more writings I feel it's time well spent reading about 1% clubs... Keep up the great work Ed!

The first book was so boring and too detailed about stuff noone wanted to read about.
I hope this new one is better.

You are right the club takes most of your time, i'm married to one who has stepped down because of the unrest. Life is so good now, I am glad someone can write about it and doesn't have to look over his shoulder , more stories like this opened peoples eyes, our society has one view and it is an ugly one, but hopefully it will change a few. Keep your back to the wind ride hard and free.

Ed you quit a club because you were not fit to be in it. I've been in a club now for almost 4yrs and have never had to do anything illegal. Other members in my chapter haven't even touched a drink or done any drugs for over 20yrs. I love my club and would do anything for my brothers. I even have one living in my house and I myself have lived in their homes with their families. I work full time and then some and barely make it buy. Originally I wanted to become a Hells Angel. They were my homecoming escorts two years in a row at my high school and thats when I decided to become a biker. I had it set to be an angel and had talked to some before here and there. But when I approached them at an event they acted like punks to me. Thats when I met the greatest brotherhood in the World....The BANDIDOS MC. I came in after your time and I'm a lot younger then you but what your doing is wrong because you know that not every Bandit is like what you say. You are giving us all a bad name and its because people like you everyone thinks that I am a criminal. I've only been arrested twice. Once for sticking up for my friend who was about to get stabbed at school and I jumped in to protect him and got stabbed myself and expelled and a assault charge on MY record. And once for flipping someone off on the road and got a intimidation charge!!(Just for wearing my patch) You know maybe I should write a book. I wish I knew how. Talk about all the good things I've done like saving lives and being a 2 time war veteran who barely has enough money to support his wife and newborn!! I hope you read this Ed and realize that we are people too and not just criminals!!

And all you people that give praise to Ed are morons that know nothing about what it takes to be a Bandit or a true biker. You don't freakin sign on with this and the quit because you got a bleeding gash between your legs. And you can't take it anymore boo hoo..... When I joined it was knowing that this is a lifetime commitment! And I'm going to keep on being a Bandit till I die! And when I say that the angels acted like punks it was just 2 of them. But I'm glad that it happened and wouldn't change anything with the way I'm living now.
