Traffic lights don't work when people constatntly ignore them. People are constantly running this light and passing on double yellow lines on this road. We can only pray for Kathleen Doyle's recovery.

what a jerk. because he was so impatient that he couldn't wait at a red light, which probably wasnt going to be longer than 1 minute, someone is now on the verge of dieing. scum bag.

that intersection is a perfect example of what happens when developers are allowed to run amok and break all the rules. That traffic light has zero visibility until you round the corner then its suddenly on top of you. Not defending anyone here- just pointing out that if we continue to let developers do this we will have more accidents.

if the person is going slower then he or she will see the light.

The only solutions to our traffic nightmares seem to be to add more traffic lights, which slows down traffic even more and encourages incidents such as this. You can't make it across town any more without wasting almost an hour's worth of time, gas, and wear and tear because of all these foolish lights.

That being said, anyone who runs a traffic light and injures another person should be charged with vehicular assault.

You made sense up until this chilling statement. Lighten up, N-dawg.

I'm consistant, since I approach this issue from the standpoint of accountibility. The city is accountible to come up with better solutions than more lights. A few lights in key places is helpful, while uncoordinated scores of lights just adds to the chaos.

However, any clown that blows through a red light and hurts someone deserves to be hauled out of their car and get their face kicked.

However, since that's neither legally or politically correct, accountibility will have to remain a legal one, and, imnsho, it should not be a simple traffic citation.

True. The original intent of that road was an expressway bypass for the congested Federal Rd. First, the government let developers add the intersection for the corporate park, now they've allowed the intersection for the Lowes/Loews shopping area. With all the traffic lights, turning lanes, and additional traffic, the purpose of the road, and its safety have been defeated.

Running a red light - what's the rush, genius? In a bigger hurry than the rest of us?

We can't we have unmarked cars or cameras hang out at this interection and at Costco where people run the lights all day long. I'm sure the tickets issued will cover the expenditure

People only care about themselves and getting where they need to be. It's the Fairfield County mentality.
Nevermind that you might k-ill someone or permanently alter their lives by your reckless actions.

Tell me how many of us have never day dreamed at one time or another while driving? And maybe had a close call or two. Not ignoring the fact that someone was hurt badly and I wish her well. But what part of the word accident makes you a bad person? This easily could have been you and I. Unfortunatley Accidents happen.

What's wrong with charging some jerk who breaks the law and thinks his time is more important than everybody else's with vehicular assualt? People need to grow up and raslize that their actions have consequences.

run a red light, critically injure someone, get a citation. now THAT seems the right thing to do. no wonder the danbury police have such a bad rep.

Your rules and laws blind you from thinking rationally. You're one of those who come to the internet and complain about illegal immigrants on a regular basis. That says a lot.

I'm sticking up for the people you go out of your way to harass. You still don't get it. I'm actually trying to be nice about it, too.
