Social clubs: They're on the decline

And in Ansonia, you no longer have to be an athlete to join the Norwood Athletic Club or from Russia's Carpathian mountains to join the Lemko Club .

social clubs.........where as a young man you can learn about cards, pool, smoking, criminal activity, drinking.........all the things mom did'nt want you to know about.
times have changed, and in this case, for the better.

I don't have much experience in this, but I thought the irish club downtown and the polish club on black rock harbor were nice friendly places where you could get warmth and a sense of belonging.

perhaps, but the places i hung out in when i was young , the marchegiana club, the italian club that was on the corner of arlington st and madison ave, the white eagle club on the east side, the salopena club on dewey st. were all places that a young kid could get influenced the wrong way. of course, it was the seventies and we were more wreckless then with our lifestyle.
