911 consolidation paid for...for now; officials still seeking surcharge
Thanks to $600,000 in state funds secured by State Sen. Joe Griffo , Utica will likely meet it's 911 consolidation costs this year, but Oneida County Executive Anthony Picenete said he's also looking foward to a more permenant solution.

Back when the 911 system was set up, Utica and New Hartford "needed" their own separate offices because their situations were "special". Now we need to pay extra so they can join with the rest of the county's office? Nah. Let 'em stay "special and separate" until they can pony up their own funds.
