does that mean that the boy who wore a brown t-shirt with a squirrel on it and the words "protect your nuts' to Allen Middle School has the same rights? Maybe he was expressing his Catholic belief in not using birth control.

1st, in response to momof2: thinking you can compare a sexual slang referring to male genitalia and the right for a young boy to stand up and quietly speak out against abortion and it's place in the healthcare forum as having any similarity at all is ludicrous. 2nd: I aplaud this young man's dedication to his faith and beliefs enough to stand against something that seems so widely accepted in our culture these days. His father standing behind him and supporting his son in this matter shows to me a true love and commitment to his son and what appears to be their shared faith in God and belief in the right for all life to have the chance to exist. although you may not agree with our belief in the right to life and we do not agree to your belief in the right to choose, the constitution includes rights for all of us.

The Courts have ruled before that students are not granted full rights in school. He doesn't have a chance in Hell. Just wasting our court's time. We all know that the parents got the kid to wear the shirt. I seriously doubt the boy took it upon himself to do it.

The father is trying to cash in, plain and simple. Wouldn't be the least bit surprised to find out that he staged this whole thing for that very reason.

Are you kidding? Why would any child choose to wear that shirt anyway? I'd like to know what that child's thoughts are regarding healthcare and abortion...are those really his thoughts or his parents. Furthermore, why would you let your child wear a shirt like that to school.

Another reason that we'll have to spend money on redoing the school policies, and possibly going to school uniforms. All because of a t-shirt that some parent let their child wear.

My parents watched what I wore to school.

Another person wasting taxpayers money.

I deff agree with you. At Halloween time we get "Rev. Grove" who by his own doing tries to ruin an annual parade MEANT FOR CHILDREN with his protests. Then he sues the City and gets some change for his "followers" to keep going till the next opportunity. The KKK did the same thing and again we have to pay. They come here because they know the law is clueless. The police do their jobs and get rewarded with having to spend their days off in court UNLESS York just settles.
Of course the lady with the gun at public events was orchestrating another law suit. If these laws are that loosely written they cant be interpreted by anyone other than lawyers in litigation why are they part of our lives? The citizens need to get control of this as it just makes money for lawyers.
And I want to say that a child that young does not have opinions about such things..I wonder what the parents had to do to force him to wear that shirt? Here, Jr. just put this T on and see what happens?? Yeah sure Pops this is so much cooler than Bart Simpson If his parents put that into his head, then they should be ashamed of themselves but maybe he will make a nice little Moonie and become like them when he is older. OR he could go the other way and do nothing anyone tells him to do.
It would be a great thing if life were perfect and things we dont like just didnt exist but that isnt life. You will find yourself so wrapped up in hatred you will self destruct. Dont forget that life isnt about how fast you can run, how high you can jump but how well you bounce..

The first, something about freedom of speech.

Instead of worrying about a t-shirt how about enforcing the dress code of the wannabe thugs that wear more gold than fort knox around their necks and pants that are so baggy their underwear shows, the kind of pants you can hide a bus in or their favorite shank or pistol for those after school drug deals or drive bys .As for the girls how about ones that dress like street corner trash , unless the male teachers where they attend school like the view so much they turn their backs to the dress code. Young teenage girls dressed for a night out at 5th and broad ready to serve in customer service trades .

Crazy jesusfreaks always getting outta hand.

When I was in middleschool the last thing On my Mind was abortion. I bet this kid feels the same way.

Honestly they should make abortions part of health care. Who the hell wouldn't mind fewer baby machines overtaxing the public assistance system. It not like they really wanted the kids anyway, Ever see how they get treated?

I wonder if any of the NEA-supporting teachers' cars still have Obama bumper stickers on them, and if the principle threatened action against. The student's actions were admirable; the father's comendable; and the school's despicable.

And I wonder what the liberal newspaper's stance would be on this issue...

John said "When I was in middleschool the last thing On my Mind was abortion. I bet this kid feels the same way."

Actually, a number of abortions are performed on children in middle school. Not on all, but we can't make it go away by ignoring it or thinking everyone else lives like we live.

This si not about abortion or healthcare anyway. It is about Government abolishment of free speach, healthcare, GM, industry, and the abolishment of capitalism.
