listen, i love new castle. im in the navy rigtht now, and i have been all over and met alot of diff. ppl and heard all kinds so stories of other ppls hometowns and newcastle is not as bad as any of them. so for you to go and say new castle is a shit hole and everone there is corrupt nad cant make more then 30k a year is wrong.My fater make more in a week then you prob did in a year and was a ligit hard working man. im 22 and i prob make more than you do. my whole family lives there and i take that as a direct insalt. your a jerk-off. stay in Tx where the steers and queers belong.

I happened by this article looking for something else but couldn't help but to read it all. Let me start by saying that I lived in New Castle PA for a while and loved it, but only as a child. I was there recently and agree that it is a depressed town and looks the part too. They did a great job fixing up downtown NC, but forgot to try to attract some businesses to fill up those new store fronts first. There is nothing there but welfare, drugs, prostitution, corruption and crime which is a shame because all of these problems have remedies. The people of NC need to do something about it before they defend it. You have more problems than you wish to account for and take action against. Normal people do not live like what I recently saw. Your plans to build a casino is not the answer either. That will only compound the problems that you are already seeing and will only create minimum wage jobs for people and maybe, just maybe, start to help the town get out of debt. (See Atlantic City NJ, Reno NV and Las Vegas NV for gambling effects on a community) Unless the people of the town begin to exercise their right to vote and do something about their leadership their plight and outlook will stay the same, bleak. Some of you that are on here posting these comments should do more than sit on the internet and talk, do something to help make it better than what it is becuase it's nothing to look at and definately not a place where I would want to raise my child. I don't think that there is enough money in that town to pay me to live there again at this point. Change your leadership, clean up the rest of your town, get some industry there other than gambling, and for God's sake stop your kids from messing around with drugs and from being so violent and it will help. The answer is within the town's citizens but you can't fix a problem until you recognize that there is one. Just to make sure I do not have to answer questions about my income, intelligence, etc. like some of these other people have I do have an MBA as well as BSA in Businees Administration AND People Administration (that's three seperate degrees so we're clear on that) I do work for a major International Corporation, I do make WAY above the average income in NC and live in one of the top five richest counties in the country. I will admit that I owe a lot of my determination and drive to NC, so that I don't end up living there ever again.

oh and the average income of neshannock township is over 100000 so im pretty sure with your 3 degrees you still would be happy with all that. especially since some of them own half of the town anyway and others make alloys sold around the world.

Everyone in here is right in some way or another. I grew up in New Castle, but I do not feel the need to ever defend nor say anything terrible about it.I moved away after it got worse and have been back to see it's decline. It's a good memory to be able to still see the things that I grew up around, yet it's slightly akin to being reluctant to attend a funeral. You want to remember the deceased as they were in their form of glory, and not as they are, having demised.
Nobody is better than one another, EVER. And in this post, what I have read, everyone is trying to top the next. That is a quality in which i solely remember from this city. Mostly because there is nothing better to do. I feel compassion for the people who have to suffer in that city in the state that it's in, but if it is all you know, you probably might defend it, too.

New castle is a dump. Be proud of the dump if you please. But dont lie about it being a great place. I have been to many differant places around the world, and New castle is one of the worst places I have ever seen. Its junkie and the people are differant(not in a good way). I think there is something in the water. I chose to live in beaver pa, which is 30 min south. Its a much nicer town.

Get real. There is absolutely no-where to work in New Castle and make over 30K.
This just dawned on me: you have a degree and you only make 30K or so a year? You need to move and use that degree and make more. Unless, of course , your degree isn't worth much.
