so remember all the fanfare everyone was cheering about when Fuyao announced they'd hire. I understood they could not pay what the UAW did when GM was at the old GM plant. so I applied. went for first step was testing. I took approx 50 question timed test at Jobs and Family services in Montgomery Co.(they kept on saying jobs with Fuyao). Okay cool i did well because 3 weeks to a month I was called for an interview in the e-mail it said with Fuyao. I arrive down at Job and Family Services. I say "I'm here for job interview with Fuyao." they said "someone will be with you shortly" sit down for maybe 15 minutes. A lady takes me into the back. I sit down she says "this is what's going down. IT'S TEMP-TO-HIRE AT FUYAO THROUGH STAFFMARK." which this deception kind of pissed me off so I said what's the pay? 12 bucks an hour once hired on full time 12.80. So they make this giant big hoopla for what a lot of people are making now. THANKS FUYAO FOR MAKING ME BURN 2 VACATIONS DAYS AND DRIVE AROUND TO MAKE SHITTY WAGES AND NOT TELLING THE TRUTH IT'S TEMP TO HIRE.
If they lie in the job ads what else will they lie about ?

I also interviewed last week but I thought they seemed pretty nice. I interviewed with 2 guys and they told me $12 hr. to start but said it wasn't certain exactly what the pay would be after 90 days. One said that it would depend on your position. I was happy to hear that you would get 4 evaluations for increases your first year. SO honestly really there's no telling what the Fuyao wage scale is long term. I remember my brother in law worked for Delphi and started at $7.25 hr. he was making $26 hr when they closed. He was there almost 14 years. He also became a maintenance tech after his third year.
I understand you being upset though. I wish jobs would just let us know the plan upfront. Tell us the wages and the top out pay, benefits and everything else. I interviewed with Exel a few months back and was offered a job and it paid less than Fuyao and it was a trainer position at Exel (procter and gamble).

My husband interviewed. He wasn't told when he'd hear back. I saw in a FAQ that they'd start training in March.

Oh how long ago did he interview? I did about a month ago. I asked at the end of the interview how long until I hear back yes or no, and was told 3 weeks. But things must have changed because I was a told by the job center that I won't hear anything until end of Feb or 1st week March.

Seriously all, good luck! The job will be what you make of it. Talent will be recognized and promoted. Folks showing up with an "I Deserve $25/hr" attitude? Well, they get what they have coming to them.

Seriously now, unless you are bringing some rare skill or talent to the table, and being a good worker ain't one of them, why should ANYBODY bend over for you?

For those of you that applied? You are doing the right thing...keep striving. I am truly praying that everything breaks your way! And the poster "insider", please take a good look at the value you bring to the table. Be honest, would you hire yourself?

LOL. I saw a pretty cool article on Fuyao a couple days ago. I was told they were hiring 40 in January. Well that 40 started this past week.
www.wyso.org/post/look-inside-fuyao-glass-fac...

They are hiring 60 in February and 300 in march. So I guess I still have somewhat of a chance. Plus like a previous poster said you'll get out of it what you put in, and it's crazy some people are still expecting 2000 era GM truck and bus plant wages...... Sorry but the reality is no one pays that anymore and certainly won't be doing so anytime soon especially without a union. The original poster could always go and work at Faurecia and work 12 hours a day days a week and make some good money.

Yeah thats what I heard. I was told that things are behind so they pushed things back for the next hires until April. Getting anxious and saw Motoman is hiring. Hell I see Honda in Anna is hiring maybe it's time to move more north like troy and try Honda.

All I can say is don't stop looking for that next job. Keep applying until you are happy where you are. It's not a crime to change jobs and Fuyao may yet come through for you.

Has anyone been told they hire date? I'm going through staffmark also. My start date has been pushed back from April now to July /August. What's really going on.

Congratulations Kim. I never heard back after my January interview. I just got offered a internship at Honda and the pay is great so I'll be making the trip up north. I gave up on Fuyao but it seems like it could become a great place to work once they work out all the kinks. Good Luck, hopefully Fuyao becomes something great.... Maybe I'll end up there one day.

WooHoo! for both of you!!!

Once upon a time, a short little Marine Corps Colonel told me "Lt, you need to bloom where you are planted" He later became Commandant Krulak! If you are not a Marine, that little ditty probably doesn't mean much to you...

Seriously now, congratulations.
