You would think the Mayor of any city would come forth and tell its residents he is working on the rise in crime and is increasing the police dept by 25 percent,Those Dirt and Hospital overtime shifts will not be harmed and the electin will be in the bag.

Moccia said the city has an active community police force, with bike, foot and motorcycle patrols. Again, he attributed the uptick in crime to the downed economy and defended the police department for being a proactive presence.

There is nothing to say after this weeks news, even The Hour has reported facts this week.
Its Election time folks

Moccia referred to a "single silo," so that a veteran who ends up in the homeless shelter has one phone number to call for help with health care, housing and jobs. "What they've seen over there is, I don't even want to think about it," he said.

Dick South Norwalk makes vets feel what they have seen over there with all the gunfire drugs and tragedy,Norwalk has all of those events right there on South Main st.Its nice you have taken a lead roe in things yet we all look back at what transpired with the Homeless woman Vets and that was indeed a mistake how Norwalk treated that situation.

Its nice to get distance on awards but this seems on the heels of a unsolved double homicide and shootings every night in Norwalk a stretch that the city is moving ahead when every day most of us feel a step back on the goal of improving the quality of life for those who need it the most.

It seems we should be doing more for the Vets than just thru the shelter not long ago stats came out on Vets without shelter maybe you could rework the article and tell us more so the city could help even more your compassion lately has been lean on whats going on in Norwalk.

Our Vets mean a lot to everyone this isn't a political football Jim Himes has his own Vet liason office that does amazing work we would all like to hear about as well. What about Norwalk don't we have others who over the years have worked without a net and publicity helping out Norwalks vets?Maybe its time to share those resources while the media is showing interest.

odd how all of these shooting has brough no response yet cutting ribbons is not al he does he also shovels a lot of sh@t when it comes time for election and this project is no exception.Bringing back Norwalk starts with the quality of life and right now there is none in South Norwalk and now other parts of the city known to be bad areas of the city including now downtown Sono.Si let the party begin for these contractors its not happening for many who have been let down by promises and actions by politicians who simply turn and look the other way when shooting happen now.

Moccia said the project represented Seligson's "entire life and passion." Together with other major redevelopment projects along West Avenue, Waypointe will result in the "rebuilding a neighborhood," he said.

"And that's what Norwalk is about: neighborhoods, people and shopping, working living together, bringing back what Norwalk used to be," Moccia said.

Norwalk Mayor Richard Moccia said that doesn't mean the job forecast in his city is as gloomy as the Forbes story indicates. "We get reports from this agency, we get reports from that agency, we think we get them all, but there might be something [they missed]," Moccia said. "I try to use the state figures, to me that's the most reliable."

Odd when Norwalk makes the top ten good stories its true, this Mayor needs to realize you can't pick and choose what sounds good before the election he said many times before holding up papers where ever he goes Norwalk is the best the nicest the top dog well Dick eat some crow te writing is on the table you have failed. The Republicans have failed the democrats have failed Norwalk has failed now it time to elect a fresh start when up is the only direction we can go in, how can we fail take a break we need the break.

"That doesn't give much credibility to this argument that people are fleeing the city because of our school system," Moccia said. "Some of the other cities grew a little more (than Norwalk). but we still grew."
your right Dick they flee our train stations instead!
By the way Dick where was Norwalk police during this incident?
NORWALK, Conn. Two Stratford men were injured over the weekend in an early morning altercation at the South Norwalk train station. MTA Police arrested Michael Moody, 21, of 71 Lexington St., and charged him with second-degree assault, third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace. Bond was set at $25,000 but reduced to $15,000 Monday in Norwalk Superior Court. Moody has no previous criminal record.
A 28-year-old victim sustained a broken nose and an orbital fracture of the left eye, according to the affidavit. His 27-year-old friend had a large bump on the side of his forehead. Both were taken to Norwalk Hospital for treatment.
A witness said he came upon the altercation among four men at 2:30 a.m. Saturday on the waiting platform for Track 3. He said the two assailants were yelling "This is Norwalk!" and one of them was punching the head of a man who was on all fours. The victim's friend tried to intervene and was hit twice in the head with a closed fist. The first victim rolled over onto his back and was hit again.
The assailants ran. The witness gave MTA Police a description, and they apprehended Moody, whose hands were bloody and who matched the description.
The badly injured victim could not remember much of what had happened. His friend said the two assailants had asked about the victim's "cool grey Michael Jordan sneakers."
Moody's next court date is Oct. 13.

Not sure on how many jobs?= None

"We'll need people to do the work in Norwalk, but we're not sure how many jobs we're looking at right now."

Zimmerman said WWE will utilize the space in Norwalk for storage and production. The company also has studio space at 120 Hamilton Ave. in Stamford.

Norwalk Mayor Richard A. Moccia said the expansion brings another well-known corporation to the city's portfolio.

"The expansion of WWE's business success to Norwalk is welcome news for our city and the region," Moccia said. "Today's announcement represents more proof of the growing viability of the digital entertainment economic sector. I commend the ongoing work of Spinnaker Partners and the Connecticut Film Center for their confidence in this important commercial neighborhood and on behalf of all Norwalk Citizens welcome the WWE to our city."

Edward Musante Jr., president of the Greater Norwalk Chamber of Commerce, said the deal is important as the space will be utilized long-term, unlike many entertainment leases.

Great expansion, maybe they can get talent from the fri sat sun night brawls on Washingtons street where blood is shown nightly.Norwalk is known for its bloodshed maybe this will encourage some more.

Inside George Uzar Sr.'s Granite Drive home just north of the Merritt Parkway in the Cranbury section of Norwalk, police found a large number of automatic weapons, said Mayor Richard A. Moccia, who went to the scene when Uzar was arrested.

"It's scary to see the amount of weapons that were taken there ... especially in a residential area that seemed so quiet," Moccia said

If it was Sono in one of your housing projects it wouold of been what normal?Comments like yours Dick shows us all you not in any loop out of touch with Norwalks ills. You talk as if Norwalk had anything to do with the capture of this Latino.Maybe its time you read the news insatead of making it,DUI arrests in Stamford is up makes one think before one drives.
