Some say it's cliche, but New Canaan often proves that money will not buy happiness.

So true what first poster wrote. There are poor families and food pantry in New Canaan. However, I've known many things going on in this town - like Weston, they keep a lot under "wraps."

Quick internet search shows that that address had recently been licensed by the state as a child family day care home. I don't know the situation, but this sounds like a very ugly situation. Poor woman and her family.

I still own property in the area, Mrs. "Your an Idiot." I attended your public schools and learned to spell the contraction for you are as you're.

Do you call poor natives "swamp billies?" We call them rednecks here. Sarah Palin came from thousands of miles away, and she fit right in. Do they have Nascar racing in New Canaan for your people?

Don't you see Palm Harbor as a step up from New Canaan? And to Peggy Sue, most people in New Canaan wouldn't know how to spell NASCAR and really the NASCAR Nation could care less.

I don't see it quite that way, Gordy, it's like a low budget Darien. However, around these parts you can get your McMansion, water view/access, great weather, nice airport if you need to get to New York, beaches, and all for very nice price. The best part is that you don't need spend your prime years on your knees worried how you're going to pay the McMortgage.

I still shake my head and wonder about the price I got for my dump up there. I downsized years ago into a house twice as big, newer, with the pool, spa, view and boatslip. It's nice having no debt, and living much better while remaining easily within your means. The food is fine and there is cultural life. If money were no object, I'd take Manhattan. But it is, and life is too short. You couldn't pay me to move back to New Canaan. I'm going outside to work on my tan now, and perhaps take a swim this afternoon.

your statements are ridiculous...every town has its good and bad points...new canaan is not an exception. There are people from every spectrum of life here. The point of this matter is that a tragedy occurred to a family. It doesnÂ’t really matter what socio-economic situation we are talking about ...someone died.

Everyone should realize that anyone can post anything here without verification. "Peggy Sue" is probably not even a woman. Does anyone think my name is Tony E Newman? It isn't.

You people have no right to make these kind of comments, you know nothing about him. You sould all mind your business. You must have nothing better to do in your own life then to talk shit about a situation that you don't know about. If we the family don't know what went on who gives you the right to decide.

At the end of the day this tragedy has scarred many people, as death and tragedy usually do.

"Peggy Sue" I really hope you are never on the receiving end of a call when someone is at such a low and desperate point in their life that they are contemplating suicide. I can't imagine what it is like to be such a cold and callous person, as you have presented yourself to be on here, and I pray that life never does me so wrong that I can belittle another person's life (or in this case death) the way that you have.

Peggy Sue:

You'll be happy to know its a typical gray, drizzly, dreary day here in Fairfield County. I envy you. As soon as the kids are well ensconsed in college and on with their lives, I am outta here.
