So how did Stamford LOSE the money? Once again somebody sleeping at thier desk?
So what does this mean? Stamford will leave Jefferson Street as a dangerous disaterous roadway? Rod conditions and traffic control/flow is miserable and dangerous that effects the entire east side Shippan/cove area. New mayor should direct some interim relief to the major mess. Lot's of comments during election on positive words on infrastructure. So were are the promised actions???

They should of never took the money to beging with, money could of been spent on better "projects' than that, with less obstructon of local business.

Project was a good one, a rare staement in Malloy days. Project relieved State St. traffic and made train station more accessible. It helps seperate train station and I-95 commuter traffice so all will flow better.
The implimentation of the work, tolerance for shoddy work and leaving it all beyond a dangerous mess is where the problem lies.

Where did you get that idea? Work continues on completing Jefferson St and Elm St. The money that did not come through is for Myrtle Ave. You cannot make major improvements to a road without inconveniencing people for awhile.

Pray tell me, what is a "good" project in your book? I was under the impression from your considerable posts that you are ideologically opposed to all governmental programs.

You are correct! I am against all prjects but if you are going to steal money you might as well spend it on something worthwhile.

That sounds to me like you are taking a pragmatic approach. Just like those evil deomocrats (and republicans) that compromise from time to time just to get something legislatively passed. Sounds to me like you accept governance when it may suit you.(Of course what is worthwhile for you, may be differnt from what is worthwhile for me...how do you propose to reconcile that without a democratic mechanism to work this out?)

Ummmm...I thought you were diehard libertarian??

Work has stopped on Jefferson St. Completely stagnent for over a week. Roads are trashed by bad patch work left unfinished and Jefferson/Elm intersection is dangerous and always backed up by unfinished work. Yes contruction takes time and inconviences will occur but just left the way it is, completely and dangerously irresponsible.

Oblivious to reality. Government is what gave you internet and the road you drive on for work and life. Pure hate government is a waste of breath. Management of situations is key to productive life and community.

I pay for my internet and the roads I travel on, are you saying the people are nothing without government? I thought the government was the people?

What the poster is saying is that government is a reality.

The question is - Are you going to exercize your right to participate in a constructive manner, or do the cowardly thing and run away and let it manage you?

You do consent. You just don't admit it. There is nothing in your daily life that is out of reach of the government. We like it that way.

Expand on that, I have a business I did not get any government permission for, I stop at intersections out of fear of being hit not because there is a redlight or stop sign there, I dont obey speed limits.
Please explain how I consent?

You abide by our laws. You buy products willingly that are regulated. Unless you go to a witch doctor, you even particpate in our government regulated health care. You pay sales tax everytime you make a purchase. Yada yada yada.

Dont give me no stinkpuss that you a rebel. You willingly consent everyday to be being governed, or we would be reading about you being holed up in Waco or some similar destination vacation. Unless you are posting from prison, which frankly wouldnt suprise me much.

You are an obvious collectivist.

"You abide by our laws" , no I abide by laws of nature

"You buy products willingly that are regulated", You are saying that I am a defacto consenter by buying products?

"You even participate in our government regulated healthcare", nope

"You pay sales tax everytime you make a purchase", and this is consent?

Paying sales tax is not consensting to being governed, it is being robbed by an accesory to the crime.
