On a related note .Finch has also announced he is going to pursue a bulk buy on BEER and Scotch for the city at the same time. By doing this it is possible to lower his tab at Tes#$%o's by about $10,000. per year. The extra money would go to getting a new snow plow for the resturants parking lot so officials won't have to park on the street during heavy snow..

He's a democrat, so he's congenitally incapable of that.

Well the so called republican mayor of Stamford also raised taxes aka increased government.
The difference is that Stamford is not on it's last gasp financially. Bridgeport is.

Regardless, a conservative should act as such, not grand stand on what he considers a small increase.
Besides, Stamford has dug itself a hole with all of the bonding through Malloy.

A tip: when you see them come up on the caller ID - indeed, ANY number on the caller ID that you do not recognize - answer the phone like this in a neutral voice:

"Hello, your caller ID has been logged and this call is being recorded, how may I help you?"

A couple of those and they magically don't call me anymore. And I've never HAD to ask to be put on a 'do not call' list.

It is not comparable to Bridgeport, where the only direction taxes should go is down. Stamford has none of the fiscal absurdities that Bridgeport does.

If he gets the generators to compete and drop the price just a little bit, it won't hurt as much when the supplier side of the bill gets that whopping increase in the name of fixing the poles and downed wires from the storms. And yes you can personally thank Blumenthal for that one. He broke up the "monopoly" of the sooty six and created the supply monopoly. Funny how the people who used to own the sooty six now own the supply monopoly.

That's merely what passes for intelligent discourse on the part of Obama voters.
