This must be a joke! It's a "smoke screen" to give the appearance of being an honest governement. I don't buy it. New Britain has a long history of "back door politics". How many cops and firemen retired with a disability!!!!

The idea that an "ethics council" can go around creating ethical "rules" is virtually always preposterous. Ethics is a well-defined scholary field. There are people with extensive formal training in ethics who justifiably take on this role. One famous example is Sissela Bok, Professor Daniel Callahan who writes for the HASTINGS CENTER REPORT is another example of a legitimate ethicist.
Do the members of that "ethics council" group have a Ph.D or even an M.A. in the field. Have any of them ever even majored in ethics as undergrads? Have they studied Mill, Aristotle, Butler, G.E. Moore, Bacon, Aquinas, etc.? If not they have no idea what they are talking about.

I'm surpised City Councilman Philip Sherwood was able to muster up enough votes to pass it. Elected officials are always squirmish around disclosing their personal dealings (DODD) when it may effect the proffessional duties.

Sherwood is also the one who passed a resolution making so that city hall can't charge taxpayers for public information that is rightfully theirs.

Please... New Britain has gone from bad to worse since our good ole' Little Timmy has been in office. Sure, the ducks are safe but what about the elderly and their vehicles.
Tim's cares for the elderly, homeless and disabled - the police are instructed to carefully scoop them from the town green and dump them at NBGH or the Salvation Army, they make the view "messy". GO TEAM STEWART.
