Your readers deserve better than the antics of this B-25 Recovery Group.
I was the instigator for KDKA’s B-25 investigation in 1976. Robert Johns was Aviation Consultant. Perry Marshall took the reins.
Johns died in 1991. His manuscript documenting our historic research,“THE INCIDENT That Could Have Killed Pittsburgh,” was recently released by Closson Press.
We interviewed the crew of AF44-29125 and learned the higher the rank, the worse the memory. We heard compelling testimony of hard-working Pittsburghers that stepped forward and spoke “for the record.”
Towboat captains and nurses directly involved in the rescue and care of these downed airmen told of government agents on the scene before the USAF arrived. Master Sgt Alleman, a passenger on that ill-fated flight, confirmed this.
The Recovery Group’s pompous dismissal of witnesses explains why folks never lined up to offer their experiences.
This incident had nothing to do with aliens or Vegas showgirls.
Maybe it was sponsored by the same scientists that brought us Human Radiation Experiments, MKULTRA, and Operation Paperclip.
No wonder the technology of tomorrow failed to reveal the secrets of yesterday.
Maybe the plane is not in the river?

My cousin, a river boat pilot, was commisioned to look for the ditched B-25 with his boat's sonar which turned up nothing. This cousin told authorities at the time that the river was swift, and to look farther downstream. I assume they did not. Can't find cousins' photo and accompanying newspaper article.
