The future is here now. Hydrogen powered fork lifts can be filled up inside the warehouse by state of the art dispensers in less than 20 seconds. The only thing that comes out the exhaust is a slight amount of water vapor. The electric fork lift model is a huge cost and logistic nightmare for companies. Huge batteries that have to be put on energy hog chargers, etc. Also, you cannot run any polluting fuel with indoor fork lifts since what comes out of them indoors would basically kill workers and is in fact against the law. Many companies across the world are implementing fuel cell fork lifts right now because they work.

This refrain of “no sunshine, no wind, etc.” implying that somehow solar power and wind power are ridiculous is getting so old. There are so many ways of capturing and storing solar and wind power now that make the implication absurd. One great way of “storing” is to make hydrogen with renewable power for later use. Last time I checked renewable power i.e. solar and wind are a fixed fuel cost and cannot be manipulated as oil and gas have been for centuries.

Since Rockefeller put in the first Standard Oil gas station, oil and gas have been subsidized by American tax dollars. In fact the oil and gas gang still get subsidies that run into the billions on an annual basis. And this while they are racking in record profits. The renewable power sector has been experiencing explosive growth 45-50% a year for the last seven years and is showing no sign of slowing at all. So just keep ridiculing the renewable power sector from the peanut gallery while we in the industry make billions doing it the clean way, the right way. Finally, it’s our turn, our day has arrived and the future is now.
