Has anyone seen that show "What Would You Do?" on tv? It is actually not bad and I found that even though I know myself quite well, I really wondered at times, if what I thought I would do is what I would REALLY do? I thought it would be interesting to throw out some ethical dilemma's and see what we all think we would do. Maybe all of us could come up with some to throw out as food for thought. Here is mine:

You are in a store and you see someone shoplifting. What would you do and would it be the same for everyone straight across the board?
ie. a teenager vrs a little old man stealing a can of beans

Huh? I couldn't even answer my own question! I started to and then I overthought EVERY situation. The possible broke man in a business suit might have less money that day than the homeless man, the elderly woman might be a really mean piece of work, on and on. The bottom line, it should be straight across the board, that I report them to management, or with eye contact let them know I know,( they will do it again but then it's not my problem)LOL!! I don't if the rubber met the road what I would really do!

As far as the teenager vs. the little old man stealing a can of beans:

I'd turn in the teenager that is stealing because it might prevent him from continuing on the 'shoplifting' path he's on.

I'd offer the old man money. Obviously he's doing it out of necessity and not for kicks.
