Great job West Islanders ! Hope you all had fun with your amateur fire works display on the beaches by the causeway. Maybe next year you can clean up the garbage and fireworks litter that has polluted the beach. Fairhaven Police: how about next year you stop this? These people have no concept of preserving a pristine beach for others to enjoy. Shame on you all!
We always do clean up the beach, that is why we stayed over two hours after our "amateur" show to clean up the beach. Which we put on for all "West Islanders" for free to celebrate our Independence Day. People like you sicken me beyond measure. I have been a preservationist since I was very young. We (those that put on the firework show) are very cognizant of the beach and the area, and make every effort to clean up after. You know, volunteers are always welcome to help with this as well. You are obviously a miserable person, who's level of patriotism and sense of community celebration are reflected in you post. Shame on you, not the "West Islanders".

And by the way, I thank you for your invite to participate next year but I do not participate in illegal activities. Last I looked fireworks are against the law in this State.
Ok, "Hank" first of all, most Veterans would appreciate a public display of Patriotism and love of Country. Secondly, I put my life on the line every day protecting and serving arrogant people like you, and certainly do not need you to inform me of the legality of fireworks. Fireworks are "illegal" in Massachusetts, but legal in NH, ME, CT, and RI. That is because of people like you Hank. First of all, I can assure you, I have saved more lives than you could ever contemplate both on and off the job. We do the best we can cleaning up the beach Hank, but this can be challenging at best with flashlights. The material used is bio-degradable paper. I cannot tell you how many West Islanders appreciate what we do. What you call "kids games" reflects again your lack of understanding and community spirit. Two of the people who light off the fireworks are also Veterans Hank, If you think real hard, you might be able to guess what I do for a living. Good luck shutting us down Hank, my fraternal order runs pretty deep you know. I have sworn to uphold both the State and Federal Constitutions, but for one night of the year, I can choose not to enforce, ignore, or use my discretion in relation to statutory law, and just enjoy celebrating being an American living in a free country. I also serve my community as both an a past elected, and appointed official who works diligently on historic and open space preservation. Not bad for an "idiot" playing "kids games" aye Hank. So in parting my dear Hank, why don't you leave us alone, as I can assure you I am more than happy to do for you. Take you sour sullen attitude elsewhere, and try being an advocate the Fourth of July, and all that it stands for. In any event, thank you for your service to our country. For that at least I do respect and thank you. As for the beach, I will go this weekend to check this out for myself, and will promptly remove any debris that may be left over.

"I will make it my mission to appear before the Selectmen next year about these illegal fireworks. I will shut your little show down."

What a positive attitude you exhibit, if this is your mission in life for next year, I really feel bad for you. You could spend your time enjoying life and being far more productive. Good luck with your "mission" Hank...LOL
