Derry School District Transparency

It was nice to receive the notice in the mail from the school district of the immminent public meeting at Grandview Elementary to discuss the building project that has already been approved, to the tune of about $21 million dollars.

I wish the Board would have sent out a similar notice to the taxpayers, when the most important decision to increase our taxes for a major builing program in the last 12 years, took place at the last Board meeting.

The Board depends on a poplulation that does not know about the meetings or can not attend. A notice to taxpayers would have been counterproductive to their aim to ram the school closings down our throats. I am pulling my son out and sending him to Acquinas. Thank you board.

I have decided to pull my kids out of Derry Schools and send them to cyber school. My tax dollars will be paying for cyber school.

I wish we had a charter school alternative.

I still belive in face to face communication; however, I do not have the finaces to send my second grader to a parochial or private school. Loyalhanna school will be missed!
