Eight months ago in January, the Humboldt Beacon reported on Big Foot researcher William Barnes of Nevada City who unveiled plans for bringing a research team to Humboldt County last month in July to look for and document the controversial creature. Full Story

"Allusive"? Don't you mean "elusive"?

I believe 100% that these creatures are real. Folks need to understand that there are spiritual beings all around us, these creatures can take on physical flesh and blood form at will, and vanish at will. That is why there will never be any scientific proof of these cryptids of cryptozoology beyond photos, movies and recorded sounds. You can read more about my views and read all about more of these creatures at: Unknown Creatures - http://www.unknown-creatures.com

Your mission would benefit from a thorough grounding in the new book published in 2009 by Henry Franzoni of Oregon. In particular pp 118-122: "Where are the Seatco? Why can't we find them?" Do not dare to skip pp 158-170, in which he enumerated their various powers. You should calibrate your observations accordingly. Hearty best wishes to you all.

Congradulations to Mr. Barnes on moving forward with your vision. 12 years is a considerable amount of time and exhaustive effort to have devoted to your endeavor.

Pure investigation requires that all possible avenues of research are exhausted, corroborated, and unbiasedly evaluated before arriving at any conclusion.

I also applaud the research methods to which you are subscribing. A passive approach to hopfully collecting and documenting conclusive data without interfering with these unique and elusive creatures existence.

The technologies that you are incorporating are understandably considerable and deserve merit.

I only hope that what ever data is collected, that you present it in accordance with principles and ethics that will help to insure these creatures existence continues accordingly.

Bigfoot can smell plastic, thats why he alludes the motion sensor creature cameras, please remember you are in his house.....the woods and they know when a shift has occured as would you, if a small dog was hiding in your closet. Good Luck

Good story, really interesting, but grammar is grammar. I'm sure you meant elusive and not allusive...

elusive - skillful at eluding capture
allusive - characterized by indirect references

I figure that, unless you've experienced the thing or something like it, all you have to go on is the Patterson film, and I thought it was pretty much crap until I read the recent study mentioned by this writer. It's o.k. to be skeptical but with this study, it's dumb to be completely dismissive. So I say, let's hand it to Barnes and his people.

Many scientists today have become like the priests of the middle ages; pompous, arrogant, and dismissive of the common people (witnesses). This Native American Sasquatch is simply rare, smart, elusive, and out there all across America and Canada. How short sighted, fatuous, and ignorant the global scientific community will look to the world, when the existence of "Bigfoot" is proven. Let's remember that the airplane was not developed by the world's best scientists, but by a couple of bicycle mechanics. The great scientists of the globe are completely asleep on this subject; an awakening is coming.

Think how many major universities could be doing this type of research. It's sad to think one private citizen has to spend private funds to perform this very interesting study.

Maybe sad (that an individual has to come up with the bucks), but probably better than the government. Don't forget Ford and Edison who funded everything they did. Don't think of joining hands with the government if you have something really innovative. They'll just bury it in a mountain of red tape. That's diametrically opposed to the creative process. Also don't forget that most universities get a lot of state and federal money.

No, Big Foot or whatever you call it is not real. It's in the category of ghosts, UFO's, and other things impossible to confirm. Give it up.

hesi-tant:

Confirmation of anything that is considered "impossible" or "not real" is accomplished by those of us who do not 'hesitate' to try and prove otherwise.

Remember, a myth is just an unverified fact and verification of anything involves those of us who are willing to try and not simply "give it up" without considering all evidence that may prove otherwise.
