I heard a story of the Cone family ordered a Square Steinway Piano for their daughter out of Chicago and it was shipped around the horn and up to San Francisco. Then it was shipped by barge or boat up the Sacramento Delta and up the river to Red Bluff. Then hauled into the Cone Ranch by Oxen.
