Local governments debate state reform

Here's wishing the locals (cities, counties, and local school boards) can regain control over their own destiny. Perhaps a narrowly tailored reversal of Prop 13, or some way to control local tax and spend locally. Will the Supreme Court allow this? Is one-person/one-vote applicable to local elections? Let's make it so, reversing in part Serrano v Priest (1969), a case that removed a foundation block in the now-defunct pillar of local control. Thank you, Daily Democrat for the peek at some groups attempting to solve the problem of too-bigness.

I would like to hear why the school district will go ahead with changing the school schedule when the principal has announced that he is leaving. He was the driving force behind changing the schedule. He told the staff repeatedly that he was not going anywhere when there were rumors that he had applied for a new position. He threatened the staff when the original vote was not for block schedule.
He created a mess and will not follow through, I would hope the supt would intervene and say that it was not going to happen this year. Unfortunately, this is the only thing that Dr. Roberts worked on over the last 2 years that deals with the accreditation of the school. That is unfortunate.
