3 to 6 years is that all?? He was twice the legal limit an couldn't even remember the crash. In my opinion I would make this guy rot in jail for the rest of his life. No matter how sorry he says he is.

it's so funny, underneath this topic is talk of passing legislation to ban smoking or making restrictions even tighter, yet nothing of alcohol. it could be said " causes idiots to kill others" i'm still waiting to hear scientific proof that second hand smoke kills, because to me, government wants to put more of thier tax on smokes than anything.

First degree murder is an intentional, premeditated killing with malice aforethought. Not to excuse the action of the driver here at all, but he obviously did not intend to kill this poor woman.

Regardless of the intent, this man killed somebody because he chose to drink and drive. 3 to 6 years is a joke. We need some politicians to make these penalties stricter.

My condolences to the victims and to the perpetrator who is now in a living hell. This poor boy never intended anyone any harm.

"Andrew J. Edelberg, Fraim's attorney, negotiated a plea agreement with prosecutors that let his client avoid as many as 12 years in prison."

Why are plea agreements even allowed? I'm assuming he got a lighter sentence because he agreed to plead guilty, but I'm wondering why that should even be allowed. He still killed the woman, right? He, and anyone else for that matter, should still have to spend the maximum time in jail for this kind of crime, whether they plead guilty or not.

When you get in the car and drive drunk that is "an intentional, premeditated killing with malice aforethought". There is nobody in this country that can say they "didn't know". Simple. Ask anyone who's lost a loved one to drunk driving what they think.

So sad that he didn't get the 12 years he deserved. He took someone's life. You drink, then drive, it's murder. I guess a person's life isn't all that important anymore. But whatever ya do..........just don't smoke.

If you drink, then drive, whatever happens as a result, is intended. Why? Because you can not predict what is going to happen, in any kind of situation, once a person is drunk. PLUS it's no secret that drinking and driving don't mix. Just because someone is drunk, does not justify what happens.

This man should have served at least 15. so, if i want to kill someone, if i dont like someone, all i have to do is drink my head off and smash into them and i get a couple years!!! this is just awful. when you fire a gun into the crowd it is murder, this should be too! maybe it isn't because many law enforcement officials and politicians have several dui's!!! maybe if one of their family members are killed by a drunk driver, then the laws may change!

ANd yes, the laws presently do not allow for enough time. THE LAWS NEED TO CHANGE. If driving while drunk became legally equivalent to intent, maybe less people would do it knowing they would get life in jail!!

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Scorpio

It will be easy to let things get on top of you today, especially if you're already feeling rather tired and listless. Do yourself a favor and keep away from anyone who often makes you feel a bit fed up or defensive, because they're the last person you want to be around at the moment. They'll make your spirits sink down to your ankles in a flash, and who needs that?
