<quoted text>How do you know what Bob Hathaway has done since he's been on the council. Do you go to council meetings? Do you read about him in a newspaper. Maybe you should talk to him, he is very approachable. I think he would be happy to tell you what he is working on and what his goals are for the town. I totally disagree with you that he has done nothing. I see him as a hard worker, very interested, and he listens to the people. You are totally ignorant with your remark. I know for a fact that he spends a lot of time working with the Lake Board that is trying to get the lake in our town cleaned up. ROME WASN'T BUILT IN A DAY!
Bob Hathaway happens to be one of the better choices this town has made. I do know Bob personally. But look how long it took the people of Netcong to finally vote him in! Rome would be probably be in a much better state if Bob was put into office the first time he decided to run. I know he is doing a good job with the Lake. But that's one thing and in the same vein, Bob is only one person. Bob is one person dealing with a mass of morons. As is Ben Delammo. Another decent guy who gets negatively chastised around here. Benny has more sense in his pinky than 90% of the people in Netcong.

I am really glad I gave you all a good laugh as a good laugh is something everyone needs once in a while. But like you see as posted by "Feller" - I am a jackass because I know that Netcong is run by a "click". Feller knows this because he/she is more than likely one of them, or more than likely someone who has his/her head so far up someone's burro that Feller feels so compelled to speak to the masses by calling me a jackass when in fact it is "Feller" and his compadres that are the real jackasses around here.

Ok so now you can all get back to bashing the Netcong Bakery, Johhny's Pizza, Parking at the Netcong School, Fat Ralph, Joe Nametko(not that i'm a fan of), Toni Ann, you know the usual suspects. These are the important issues that need to be corrected in order to make Netcong, or was it Rome, a much better place to live.

Bob Hathaway is a good guy trying to make this town a better place to live but he's up against people like the Mayor and Ralph who really don't want to do the "right thing" for the taxpayers. Always a battle. Don't give up Bob. Keep fighting!!! You're one of the Good Guys!!!

If Bob Hathaway is trying to do the right thing why did he vote yes to giving Ralph a big raise?? Fact is Bob Hathaway told everyone what they wanted to hear when they were mad at Ben Dellamo to get elected. Once elected, he showed his true colors by voting along with everyone else on the council. I don't know what kind of "change" Hathaway was talking about, but voting yes with everyone else doesn't fit my definition of change.

I find it interesting that Mr. Hathaway, has been given 2 very difficult and important committee assignments, the Lake Board and economic development. No one else on the Council apparently wanted these jobs. I know he is starting to talk to developers about growing Netcong when the economy gets better. Give him time.

You are a jackass. Stop questioning Jim Arbolino's education. You should be questioning what Mayor Nametco and Ralph are doing for this town. They may be educated........but they are clueless. Ralph makes 120k per year and is one of the laziest people this town has every employed. He gives useless a new meaning. And Mayor Nametco is worse. He supports and tolerates Ralph wasting our towns money. Say whatever you want about "mayor to be" Arbolino. When he takes over......Ralph will have to earn his big salary. Or better yet, he will need to find a new job.

Talk about self serving, Mr. Hathaway stand to gain more than most if the lake is cleaned up.

In the past I have backed and voted for him but now I'm not so sure.

How can he be in charge of cleaning the lake when his house is directly affected.

Maybe everyone is right about him, once you get in the mix with these type of people it must rub off.

Very disappointing.

By the way lets keep in mind that Jim Arbolino never wanted to run for Mayor nor did he campaign.

You do not need qualifications to hold a public position in the Town of Netcong. You simply need to be part of a click; whether that click is you are from a family that has lived here for a long period of time, or if you become part of a click like the school board that doesnt really know their burro from their elbow, or you become part of a click that hangs out at Rosie's (no negativism directed toward Rosie) you know, part of a good old Netcong click. What qualifications does Jim Arbolino hold to even be considered for Mayor of Netcong? Is it because he was a cop in town? Does that make him a good guy, capable of holding office? No disrespect toward Jim, but whether it's Jim or anyone else for that matter, the people of this town need to get their heads out of their burros, and start paying better attention to people with "street smart" qualifications. Qualifications that just don't come from education. Overall qualifications. People skills, budgeting skills, community skills, the skills required for the good of everyone, not just for the good of the clicks of this town. Because that is the problem with this town; you all play follow the leader. I have never in my life seen a town forum such as Netcong where people are more concerned with gossip and belittling people. Oh, and here will come the Netcong peanut gallery next telling me to get out of Netcong if I dont like living here. Please. Netcong has more misfits and trouble makers than I have ever seen in my life. And this is why this town will never prosper or progress to the likes of some of the more affluent towns in our immediate 10-15 mile radius. Because Netcong loves drama, Netcong loves running with the horse that is the hot click of the month. Once the people with some form of common sense in their heads are able to be placed in positions of power in this Town, that is when this town will flourish. But in order for that to happen, the clicks need to be dissolved and pushed aside. And unfortunately the clicks overpower the smarter people around Netcong.
Will the real Slim Shady please stand up before it's too late!
I hate to get involved with this nonsense but I can't help but respond to your post. It doesn't make any sense. First you question someone's qualifications, then you say they need "street smart qualifications". Who has more street smart qualifications than a former cop. You bash the Board of Education which has members made up with all different qualifications. Don't quote me but I think there may be 4 or 5 teachers on the Board. One may even be a principal in another town. The Board President is an educated successful business man. The newest member they just appointed hasn't lived in town longer than one or two years. In no click or no big family behind him. Just put in an application as an interested person. You say the people running the town need people skills, budgeting skills and community skills? Do you know Councilman Still? He has "outstanding" budget skills. Do you know how many towns are broke? Netcong isn't one of them. Do you know Councilman Ed Koster. He has more community skills than anyone I know and is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. Seems to me you wouldn't be satisfied with anyone. Did you ever go to a council meeting and ask for anything. They are courteous, will listen and do their best to meet your requests. I really don't think you know what you are talking about and I really resent your remark about the affluent towns around us. They are no better than we are. As you expected someone to say, if you don't like living in Netcong and don't respect the people giving service to the school and community, you can leave. I'm sure you won't be missed. Happy New Year!

Dear Feller or is it Old Yeller or Cindarella; because you sound like a little crybaby so I am not too sure how to categorize you. Why don't you and your click continue screwing up this town like you have been all these years. You have the common sense of an ameba. I beg to differ. I have a hard time buying into your philosophy that a local police officer has street smarts. Again, no offense to Jim Arbolino or any of the other policeman that serve Netcong. Netcong has a circumference of about a square mile. How does a police office gain street smarts in a suburb of one square mile?

4 or 5 teachers on the school board? Interesting. Show me where Netcong School ranks in the State of NJ with respect to educational value that the children coming out of there get.

As for some of the locals on the school board, i do agree with you that there are some good people, not all, some. Like the rest of this town, some good people, but more low lifes than good.

The affluent towns around us? There are plenty. And mind you affluence isnt always about wealth. Think about that before you jump on my back on that one.

And i already moved out of Netcong to answer your question. Every so often though i look at this post to see that in all the years since i have left Netcong, nothing much has changed.

Oh, I support Mayor Bloomberg btw.

Well sorry "boomer" YOUR the DUMMY here because that is an accepted variant or form of the word "ameba". And actually the way YOU wrote it is sometimes considered the mis-spelled version. So "qualifications..." you are correct there are different forms of that word.
And to "what a laugh" if this is the town and the
mentality of individuals your satisfied with, and to mock and judge affluency as anything less than what comes out of this town, than you must be a real hick-a-billy from...well from Netcong LMAO!!!!

Do you live in Netcong? Our town has a huge body of water which attracts fishermen who then hopefully buy from our local business when they come. Do you realize how different the lake looks? Who had the engineer do a study on why the town is flooding? Who is working on the redevelop project and getting it to move forward with hopefully happy property owners? Others on the council have had the thought of just take these people's property over with no care of fing them over. But people still vote for them. Maybe going to a meeting will allow you to see how things work then getting second hand and elect people based on who your friends with. Sometimes electing a friend is not the best choice!

Law repealed. Now if anyone was paying attention, the best part is it cost $1,200 to write and research the ordinance in the first place.$1,000 to research and tell the council to repeal the law. We should ask who recommended the law is legal in the first place? Township attorney Bucco. He'll get paid again to repeal it.

One reason for attorneys is to know the law and know it well enough so in the end they don't look like a used car salesman! Have you never heard the phase never trust a lawyer?
