Unfortunately Todd has no chance. He doesn't have the fire dept. vote or the big family the other two have. No one shows up to vote in town so the biggest voting block is the fire dept.

Rumor has it that once Still and Sylvester get re-elected the fire dept. will ask for yet another truck. How they can even vote on any fire dept. issues is beyond me.

Come on. Voting is, next to the military service, the most important, thing a citizen can do. I do not have to give examples here, but we all know something is terribly wrong with town government. We have an obligation to each other to vote to make it better. That means retiring Mr. Still and replacing him with new blood and ideas. Individually the men on the fire department are okay guys, but we have allowed them to have too much power and elect their own. It isnít that radical, just vote and take back your town.

We also need to send a message. The mayor needs to be told he isnít doing the job we expect. He is running unopposed. Write in someoneís name. Teach him a lesson and send a message.

no one wants the job of mayor. this mayor has brought the town of netcong to a new low level. the councilmen are not bad. it is the mayors influence. i never in my life thought that people like jack, elmer and ed would bow down to the likes of joe nametko. i am baffled.

I share your fustration. I'm not sure I agree with all of your statements, but can understand where they come from.
Most of the feedback I have gotten from the general public is that no one feels like they can communicate with the people who are running our town. I agree. They have spent tax payer money on writting and enforcing ordinances rather than take the time to talk to knock on someone's door and talk to them. They are also very selective with whom they target and enforce these laws.
Another reason I am running is to support the changes Councilman Hathaway is working hard to accomplish. Although there has been some concessions, the fact is that it is still 1 vs. 5.
I have been a very successful salesman for 13 years because I have thick skin. I don't take critics personally. I actually welcome the opportunity to openly discuss and debate the issues. I'm not always right and don't always have the answers.
If I get elected, I'm going to need help and I'm going to ask for it.
people are starting to know you because of topix. everybody is on topix whether they want to admit it or not.

please start a page and tell us about yourself. i am serious. i want nothing more than to make some big changes downtown. i am in the majority.

so far you seem like a guy who is not afraid to speak up. you also seem to be quite intelligent.

i think you are a keeper.

I am going to vote for Todd Portsmore. Not that I know anything about him, nor am I very comfortable that he is alligned with Bob Hathaway who is a useless liar. However, I just cannot vote for another alcoholic fireman. So as Provolone22 put it, my vote is going to anyonebutstillsylvester.

Good luck to Todd Portsmore, Netcong needs someone of intellegence to step up and try to help the taxpaying homeowners. Please don't bash Senator Bucco or his son Anthony Bucco. Senator Bucco has helped many Morris county people. Look into his past accomplishments before making comments.

wow alot of you are nothing but sheep. you know nothing about portsmore or what he stands for yet "you got my vote". lol thats why obama is in office, as well as christie. no one does research with their vote, they just are told something, believe it, and vote. kinda sad.

I am standing alone against the same candidates running for the same offices. I got tired of sitting around complaining and I am taking time away from my family and friends to try. What is sad is that you took the time to bash me for it. If you feel that strongly, maybe you should run too. It doesn't matter what party. Just get up and run. I did.

And as for the "From Netcong" implications...My wife is the 3rd generation in a row to have owned a home in Netcong. Her parents graduated Netcong High School, Class of 1950.

But we're suppose to vote for people who gave RB an outrageous raise in these hard economic times, fired his own Aunt, which made no sense. What kind of money did they really save firing her. Who have no respect for the town and it's citizens. No thanks!! I think I'll give Todd a chance. Good Luck Todd!!!

What's this "rumor" about James Arbolino Jr. running for Mayor? Does he have any experience with politics?!...besides being a cop. Need someone with some town-county-state law knowledge I would think!?

Itís James F. Arbolino and he will have my vote! Not only has he lived in Netcong is whole life, but he also has a son in the Netcong school system. He is well aware of the changes that need to happen and is open to suggestions. He is active within the community and is a very fair person. Write him in! What other alternative do you have Ė Nametko??? Really??? You want him again with his town administrator making over $100K annually and driving around in a town car? I for one am willing to give someone else a try Ė especially someone who comes from this town and has great morals.

Voting is an incredible privilege given to free people. Ben Franklin (a/k/a Poor Richard) and his fellow Founding Fathers wanted people to use their vote wisely. I donít mean to preach or sound like an Elementary School social studies teacher, but please vote tomorrow. And please think before you vote.

It is pretty obvious Netcong is going in the wrong direction. The mayor and council cannot be blamed for everything, but they are a huge part of the problem. I also sense an attitude of arrogance towards the taxpayers and their neighbors. Still and Sylvester donít even campaign for my vote and I canít think of a single reason they deserve reelection. I am tired of entrusting my tax money and my property value to guys who think they can be on the Council because the fire department or a large family will get them elected in a small town. I am casting ONE vote tomorrow for Portsmore for change and accountability.

I also have no confidence in the mayor. I will cast a write in vote. I am open to suggestions for a name.
We all canít go to meetings or run for Council. But, we can all vote tomorrow. Please do so.
