Pookie -- just wanted you to know that we attended a Christmas Open House, last evening, and the topic was Topix. I was totally unaware as to how many people read the blogs. They aren't posting; just reading. They started, originally, with the Who Do You Support for various candidates and stayed with the 122nd one. They followed over to the Recorder of Deeds blog and then, finally, to "ours". They were hysterical as to the posts by the "Rimsky supporters". The Rimsky people, whether serious or not about any of them running, have lost the small credibility they had. They commented that it only proves what kind of office holder any of them would make and it wouldn't be a good one. Hinky Walker was respected. These idiots are not nor would they be. They have also realized the distinction between the REAL Pookie and the imposter. As long as we post STRICTLY on "our" blog, people know the difference and know that you are not pro Rimsky. As with Snakes, they will not be able to "keep up" with the intelligencia of our conversations and knowledege and they will get tired of their childish games and go away. Or at least stay on the Recorder site. Hoping the Rimsky idiots will neither deter you or any other legitimate poster from conversing. Hope you, Mrs. Pookie, etc. had a great Christmas. Sweet Baboo.

I was also surprised to how many people read this blog. I have been hearing a great many things about our posts, some in favor, some not, but all approve of the demeanor of the conversations. I was actually pointed to this site by one of the gentlemen running for state rep. Thank God Christmas is over. I love the holidays but they get real hectic as the day approaches.

I wish we could get them to not only read, but post. We are never going to get everyone to agree. Hell, the three of us don't always agree, but, imput is always great. Personally, I appreciate hearing other peoples' views, even if in contrast to my own. You never know what we can and will learn from one another. Christmas Eve and Day are our big ones. Things should start to settle down and hopefully, we can just sit back and enjoy this special time of year. When it comes down to it, it's not the holiday that is hectic. It's us who makes it that way ! We put too many burdens on ourselves. Gotta slow down and slow it down. Glad to see you back on.

Thanks Gave, and I'll start off again by saying, I agree with you. It is us who make it hectic, I really try to slow down and enjoy every moment. This is actually the first year in a long time that I got the Christmas spirit back. I also like to hear other peoples opinions, if they are intelligent and insightful, they may even change my mind. I finally had a chance to read the recorder posts and I must say it looks like the pain in the ass is back under a different name....

I must admit, I did entertain the thought [albeit briefly] that it could be it under a new guise. I didn't think even the Rimsky crew could or would sink that low. Guess I was wrong. I'm like you----if the opinions, expressed, are rational and intelligent, they just could sway my view and opinion. Sometimes we don't always "see" the big picture. That is why I wish the readers would REALLY read what we are writing and not just fragments of the sentences. Sometimes, I think people read only the first few words and then they "finish" the sentence for themselves. With the upcoming election, I am really looking forward to discussing the candidates and issues. I know we are not always going to agree, but am hoping we can discuss them in a manner that we can ask questions, etc. and go from there. If no new candidates emerge for the Judgeship race, I'm gonna need help there. Am not thrilled with the three already mentioned. Wish we had a better "stable" of candidates, on all levels. Glad you got the Christmas spirit back. We forget the real reason for it. Sometimes, we just have to take a step back !

The imposter has followed me in here, folks. I'm not posting anything about Rimsky, period. I don't personally know that family, but I feel bad that they are being lambasted. We started this blog to get away from the individual bashing based on personal vendettas and I'm sticking to my guns. Let me make a suggestion, don't respond to any comments that are nothing more than ill-tempered attacks. Open dialogue, honest opinions, and thoughtful interchange work for me. P.S. Eggnog and Myers rum make a great combo! Merry Christmas!

Pax, Pax, Pax. The imposters are NOT bashing the Rimsky clan. They are trying to aggrivate those of us who are trying to have a reputable blog going. We are lashing out as to what THEY are doing. We are not going to answer their people who are trying to destroy a good thing ---- our blog. We will all just ignore them, as I suggested earlier, and hopefully, they will take their childish games elsewhere. In the meantime, we will just continue our posts and not respond to any of their idiocy. Now, in order to "keep up" and stay on track, stay the hell out of the eggnog and rum ! Strict oders from Sweet Baboo !

All good with me, Gave. I wasn't paying any attention to the Rimsky thread, just noting the comments in my name. So I will follow your lead and say no more...except about eggnog, good stuff, very healthy for you. Anybody need proof that both Lavelle and Matika are running, just go to CCDems for Change webpage and look at the pictures of their Xmas party at Pepperjacks, they are both in attendance. Judging from the pics, that was a pretty large and diverse crowd that gathered, interesting. A certain co-worker who shall remain anonymous also confirmed that Mousseau is organizing his run. Schwab remains the question mark and I expect he will keep everyone guessing until he does or does not announce. My bet is that the announcements will come in the 2nd week of January, not the first on the judgship. I think the other offices will announce at the same time. The Dems haven't coordinated their announcements, I don't know if the Rs have, anybody hear anything?

Pookie --- you make your own nog ? We do. Less stuff than the bought stuff. Homemade is better and even healthier. That said, we shall move on. Oh, there is absolutely no doubt that Matika and Lavelle will run. Ditto for Mousseau. The judgeship announcements may not come until even closer to the petition filing deadline. Now, remember --- with the judicial candidates, their petitions are filed in Harrisburg, not here in the county. Schwab will play cat and mouse. He will leak out small bits of info and then pull back. You can bet that he has been doing his "homework" and checking the lay of the land. I have a funny feeling, Pookie, that you just might see more and more Dem candidates playing footsie with the Progressive group. The county group hasn't "shown" anything, the past two elections. The sole winner they have had has been Senator Elect Yudichek. No offense to Emmett McCall, who chaired his campaign for Carbon, but, Steve Urban was no real threat. The Reps, from what I am hearing, are putting together a "screening" committee. But, I think it's safe to say that they won't put their necks out and endorse, should there be multiple candidates. There is a new group [not the 9/12 and not affiliated with any group] that has gotten together and will field an Armbruster guy, from Lehighton, for Sheriff. He will run as a Rep but not be affiliated with any Rep group on record. From the little I know of them, they need to be watched, carefully, as they held an event and it was advertised so that it looked like the County Sheriff's office was sponsoring it. Dwight Nothstein had to make a clarification in the paper. On a different issue --- the "trash man" has always been known for his off the wall outside decorating for Xmas. Property was always jammed with every imaginable lighted dodad. Lit up the sky and neighborhood. This year, very subdued. Might just be something to those rumors. Doesn't seem like he was in such a festive mood this year.

I think that is really interesting on the Nothstein/Armbruster info. I'm surprised anybody would take on Dwight, he's very cadgy, he says he supports his D candidates when he's with the right group, but it is well-known that he can say just the opposite when he's with others. If you take notice, you will never see a sign out in front of his house supporting any other local candidate, except himself. Anyway, he's popular with mainstream Rs as much as the Ds. Does the rise of opposition have anything to do with the pending sexual harrassment suit against him? Is this group related to the Mahoning Valley renegades, by any chance? Well, I have my shovel ready, and am going to start digging on this one. I don't know which Armbruster that is, can you give any background? Don't know why Trashy wasn't lit up this season, maybe he's short on cash and needs to find another well-off old person to suck off of, or maybe it's all those exhausting hours he's working?

I believe the Armbruster you speak of is Richard "Puppy" Armbruster aka Pup the mailman, he was a front runner for Mayor of Jim Thorpe not too long ago.

I have never met Mr. Armbruster, but I have read a few articles written by him. He really seems off the wall... I would not base my voting decision on that though, I would have to meet the man and see what hes all about. I think if Nothstein runs amid being cleared of the allegations I think he would beat him soundly. As for the Dems for change xmas party, alot of mixed thinking going on there. I think both Bills and Emmett were there to feel the organization out. I think they want to see if the Dems for change are going to try to field their own candidates for various office's, and go against the grain of the CC. Dem. club. I think their scared, not to much, but still scared they could produce a viable candidate.

Remember there were 5 candidates for state rep, two collected almost 2,200 votes each and three who split the rest of the voters. The question is who were the rest of the votes, people who are fed up, people who are educated, or just people who wanted anybody besides the two front runners.

Okay, gotta answer three of the posts at one time. Well, not answer one, just clarify the one and answer the other two. The Mr. Armbruster is NOT "pup the mailman" Armbruster who did indeed run for Mayor of Jim Thorpe, last year. He was NOT a front runner for that or anything else. The poster is from the blog we are ignoring. Just so you know. Unfortunately, for the time being, we are just going to have to stop ontop of things and clarify things when the "other post" bloggers appear on our blog. I do not know anything about the real Mr. Armbruster who plans to run for Sheriff. Never met him or heard of him until his very early announcement to run. I have no idea what Mahoning Valley group Lawful refers to. If you mean the 9/12 group, I can tell you that is NOT so. If there is another group, I am unaware of its existance. Perhaps you can enlighten ? I agree with Lawful's thoughts on the candidates being scared of the Progressive group. As of now, I don't think they will be a major factor. Hear me out. They whole heartedly supported Walbert, when she ran the last time, and from what I was told, they backed Yaich, due to Walbert's influence. Dwight Nothstein is NOT the only D candidate who doesn't put themselves out for the other D candidates. If you look hard enough, you will find others who pull the same thing. I thought the "trash man" was salaried, meaning regardless of the hours worked, he didn't receive any more pay. I think the sexual harassment suit will go by the wayside. Ain't the first time a caper was tried against him.

I understand you were trying to answer three posts at once but try to keep up gave LOL!!!!! It was pax who referenced the mahoning twsp clan not me, but it's all good, we can still continue. I disagree with you on the progressive's support of Yaich. I know many of them and unless they were out and out lying (which is not unheard of) most of them were against Yaich and they cant stand Edie.I also know many of the Lehighton Dems were totally against Yaich and they seem to be the strong worded in the Dems for change. They could possibly be the same ones Pax was referring to. Armbruster, just google his name and read the former letters to the Standar Speaker from him, and you'll see what I am saying.

Ah, c'mon. Give me a break. Trying to answer or deal with three posts is a bit much for someone of my age ! I would google Armbruster, but don't know his first name. I have heard things, though, and the fact they tried to pull off that event and it appeared to be under the auspices of the Sheriff's Dept., that was enough for me. And, I just learned the organizer of this Constitutional group. That tells me way more than needed to know ! Uh, I don't know about the Lehighton group. yaich seemed to have alot of signs around town. It wouldn't be the first time anyone involved in politics, lied ! I will tell you that there are people who are trying to get a better handle on the Constitutional group that started out of Jim Thorpe by Geno Duffy. This is Armbruster's group. Don't really need to know more than I already do. I am reserving judgement on the other independent groups, on both sides of the aisle. Am I caught up ?
